Taxi meter or fixed price to Schiphol: the calculation by city

In the Netherlands, taxi journeys that are not booked in advance (from a taxi rank or hailed in the street) are subject to legal maximum fares. For 2026, the maximum for a passenger car (1–4 passengers) is a €4.31 starting fare, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute, as set out in the Dutch regulation on maximum taxi fares, the Regeling maximumtarief en bekendmaking tarieven taxivervoer (wetten.overheid.nl).

1. Meter fare per city = starting fare + kilometres × per-kilometre rate + journey minutes × per-minute rate. The distance and journey time for each route come from route calculations over the actual road network, outside rush hour. In rush hour the meter only climbs higher, so this is a conservative lower bound.
2. Our price is the fixed Comfort total price (passenger car, including 9% VAT, luggage, flight monitoring and Schiphol parking charges): the same amount you see on the city page and in the booking flow, in both directions.
3. The saving is rounded down to the nearest whole percentage. Important: the maximum fare is a ceiling, and street taxis are allowed to charge less. That is why we compare with the legal maximum that may appear on the meter, not with what every individual taxi charges.
