From every neighbourhood you reach the A4 junction in a few minutes via the Engelendaal or the Persant Snoepweg; at Leiderdorp the motorway runs below the Oude Rijn through the Limes aqueduct. After that it's one straight line northbound: through the Ringvaart aqueduct near Roelofarendsveen, past Hoofddorp and via the Schiphol exit to the terminal.
Outside rush hour that takes 27 minutes. In the morning peak the A4 between Leiden and the Burgerveen interchange is the weak point; the journey can then rise towards 40 minutes. The evening peak towards Schiphol is usually mild, but in the event of accidents or roadworks your driver takes an alternative via the A44 past Oegstgeest and Sassenheim.
