From Almere to Schiphol it's a 52-kilometre drive via the A6, A1 and A9. Outside rush hour you're there in about 50 minutes, while the morning peak can stretch this to roughly 70 minutes. If you'd like more space or comfort, you can choose Premium (€100, Mercedes E-Class or similar), a Van for 5 to 8 people (€105) or VIP (€190, S-Class or similar). The driver picks you up in any district, from Almere Haven to Almere Buiten, and on a pickup from Schiphol your flight is tracked live.
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup, and after landing you have 60 minutes of free waiting time.
Your route and departure time
The standard route runs via the A6 past Almere Stad and Almere Poort, across the Hollandse Brug towards the Muiderberg interchange. There you join the A1 as far as the Diemen interchange, after which the A9 along the Gaasperdammerweg and past Amstelveen brings you to the Badhoevedorp interchange and the Schiphol exit.
This stretch has been widened in recent years as part of the Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere project; since April 2026 there is also a reversible lane of around 25 kilometres between the Gooimeer interchange and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
For now it only opens during the evening peak, in the direction of Almere; the morning direction towards Schiphol will follow once the A9 widening between Badhoevedorp and Holendrecht is finished. Even so, the A1/A9 section between Muiderberg and Holendrecht remains the heaviest point on weekdays between roughly 07:00 and 09:30; that's where traffic from 't Gooi and Flevoland converges.
Outside the peak you cover the 52 kilometres in about 50 minutes; in rush hour the journey can rise to roughly 70 minutes. The driver plans the departure time around current traffic levels.

Almere is sprawling, and that makes your departure point relevant for the planning: from Almere Poort you reach the A6 fastest, whereas from Almere Buiten or Almere Hout you first cross the city along the dreven.

What does a taxi from Almere to Schiphol cost?

What time should I leave Almere for an 08:00 morning flight?
Work backwards: for a flight at 08:00 you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 (a good 2 hours to check in). That early, the A6 and A9 are still quiet, so with about 50 minutes of driving you leave Almere around 05:00.
If you travel during the morning peak, the driver allows for up to roughly 70 minutes.
Is the taxi faster than the train from Almere to Schiphol?
An honest answer: the direct intercity from Almere Centrum to Schiphol takes about half an hour and is perfectly fine during the day. The taxi wins on door-to-door: no trip to the station, no lugging suitcases, and it also runs at 04:30 if you need the first flight.
With 3 or 4 people the fixed price comes close to separate train tickets too.
Will I also be picked up in Almere Buiten, Haven or Poort?
Yes, the fixed price applies to the whole of Almere, from Almere Haven to Almere Hout and the new-build in Duin or the Homeruskwartier. The only difference is the approach time within the city: from Almere Buiten you're slightly longer on the road to the A6 via the dreven than from Almere Poort.

Can I book a business ride from a business park in Almere?
Certainly. Many rides depart from Veluwsekant, which sits directly on the A6, or from Stichtsekant and De Vaart. You book under your company name and receive an invoice with a VAT breakdown. For teams of up to 8 people the Van (€105) is usually the logical choice; for guests or directors you'd choose Premium or VIP.
Is a taxi cheaper than parking at Schiphol?
For a longer trip it often is: you pay one fixed fare instead of parking fees per day, and you don't have to haul your cases from P3 to the terminal. Compare your own route with the price calculator.
How far in advance do I need to book my Schiphol taxi?
You can book online up to 1 hour before pickup, day and night; only between 02:00 and 09:00 you can't book a ride departing that same morning. If online booking is no longer available, just call 085 060 2543 and we'll see what's possible.
Booking earlier is always wise, especially in holiday periods.
