Tips

Six tips for stress-free travel

1

Book at least 24h ahead

Guarantees the right child seat. Last-minute can work, but stock varies.

2

Leave earlier with kids

Schiphol check-in with children and luggage is slower. Add at least 30 minutes to solo timing.

3

Pack the night before

Lay everything by the front door the evening before. The morning rush with kids is no time for packing.

4

Bring snacks and a drink

Car ride 30–90 minutes. A small snack and a water bottle prevent restlessness and hangry meltdowns.

5

Toys or tablet ready

Entertainment in the car and later at the gate. Tablet charged, content downloaded.

6

Bathroom break just before leaving

Even if they say 'I don't need to' — ask anyway. Nothing is worse than a kid needing the toilet in traffic.

The right vehicle

Which car for your family

Comfort for 1 baby + parents

Volkswagen Passat or similar with 1 child seat. Fits 1–2 parents + 1 baby/toddler + 2–3 suitcases.

Minivan for 2+ kids

Mercedes V-Class with up to 3 child seats. Lots of legroom, zoned climate control, no squeezed-in kids.

VIP for special occasions

S-Class for a business family trip or a special event — discretion, luxury and a child seat.
