From Alkmaar you spend almost the entire journey on the A9: the driver joins the motorway at the Kooimeer interchange on the south side of the city and follows it past Heiloo and Beverwijk, through the Wijkertunnel beneath the North Sea Canal, past the Rottepolderplein interchange near Haarlem to the Badhoevedorp interchange, where the Schiphol exit follows immediately.
Off-peak, that puts you outside the departure hall in roughly 45 minutes. The A9 is known for congestion around Rottepolderplein and Badhoevedorp, and the Wijkertunnel too can grind to a halt southbound during the morning rush; between roughly 07:00 and 09:30 the journey can stretch to around 70 minutes.
The driver factors this in when planning and, in the event of an incident on the A9, can divert via the A8 and A10 past Zaandam and Amsterdam-West. If you set off off-peak or early in the morning, the route is usually free of delays.

If you land late in the evening at Schiphol, the A9 usually gets you back to Alkmaar within around 45 minutes — off-peak that route is almost always quiet. Keep an eye out for AZ home matches: around the AFAS Stadion at the Kooimeer interchange it can get busy before and after the game, which can make the final stretch to Zuid or Overdie take a little longer.

Throughout Alkmaar, so the northern districts such as De Mare, Daalmeer/Koedijk and Vroonermeer too, and on the south side in Overdie and Oudorp. The fixed price applies to every pick-up address within the municipality — being a few kilometres further from the motorway makes no difference to the fare.
Isn't the train from Alkmaar a more logical option to Schiphol?+
There is no direct train: you change along the way, usually at Amsterdam Sloterdijk, and are about 50 minutes en route plus the trip to the station. With a lot of luggage, an early flight or travelling as a party of three or more, a taxi from door to departure hall is often more practical — and per group sometimes cheaper too.
