Your ride from Bussum
From Bussum, in the leafy Gooise Meren municipality at the heart of affluent 't Gooi, it is around 39 kilometres to Schiphol and roughly 40 minutes outside the rush hour. In the morning or evening peak that can stretch to about 55 minutes. For this journey Schipholride arranges a screened independent driver at a fixed all-in price from €70, with VAT, luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol already included; there is no night surcharge. You choose your own segment: Comfort (€70, VW Passat or similar), Premium (€85, Mercedes E-Class or similar), Van for 5-8 people (€95, V-Class or similar) or VIP (€140, S-Class or similar). Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. A direct Sprinter does run from Naarden-Bussum station, but for early flights, a lot of luggage or a group, a door-to-door car usually wins.
From Bussum the driver takes the Ceintuurbaan or the Brediusweg out to the A1 towards Amsterdam. At the Diemen interchange the route switches to the A9, which runs through the Gaasperdammertunnel - at three kilometres the longest road tunnel in the Netherlands - past Amstelveen to the Badhoevedorp interchange, where the Schiphol exit follows. Outside the rush hour this is a trip of around 40 minutes. In the morning peak (roughly 7:00-9:30) the A1 between Muiderberg and Diemen is the well-known bottleneck and the journey can stretch to about 55 minutes; in the evening peak that applies above all to the A9 around Amstelveen. The driver builds this into the timing, and if the A1 grinds to a halt, the route via Hilversum and the A27/A2 is sometimes a useful alternative. The driver picks the fastest option on the day.
Pick-up in Bussum
You can be collected anywhere in Bussum: from the villa-lined avenues of Het Spiegel and the Brediuskwartier to the Oostereng, Westereng and the Centrum around the Kapelstraat. In the quieter, low-traffic centre you simply agree your own front door or a sensible boarding point when you book, and the driver sends a message as soon as they are on the way. Pick-up at Naarden-Bussum station or Bussum Zuid is just as easy, for instance if you are arriving from elsewhere by train and joining there.

Pick-up from Schiphol
On the way back from Schiphol you cover the same route in reverse: via the A9 and A1 you are home in Bussum within about 40 minutes outside the rush hour. If you land on a Friday afternoon, allow for the evening peak on the A9 around Amstelveen. For an arrival pick-up your flight is tracked live, so the driver knows when you are actually on the ground and waits up to 60 minutes free after landing - and you pay the same fixed price whatever the hour.
Frequently asked questions
What time should I leave Bussum for an early flight at 07:00?+
Allow around 40 minutes for the journey itself, as the A1 and A9 are quiet that early, plus a good two hours to check in at Schiphol. That means a pick-up around 04:20 from your address in Bussum leaves comfortable margin. There is no night surcharge, so an early start like this still costs the same fixed price.
There is a direct train from Naarden-Bussum to Schiphol, so why take a car?+
That is true, and for a solo traveller with hand luggage only the Sprinter is often the cheapest option. A door-to-door car earns its keep once you are travelling with several people, a lot of luggage or outside the train times: you are collected at your door, you avoid hauling cases to the station, and split three or four ways the price per person comes close.
Does the trip from Bussum get stuck in the rush hour, and how is that handled?+
In the morning peak the A1 between Muiderberg and the Diemen interchange is the bottleneck, and the journey can then stretch to around 55 minutes. The driver factors this into the agreed pick-up time as standard, and if there is serious congestion on the A1 they can divert via Hilversum and the A27/A2 to keep things moving towards Schiphol.
Can I be collected in Het Spiegel, the Eng or at Bussum Zuid station?+
Yes, the whole of Bussum sits within the pick-up area: Het Spiegel, the Brediuskwartier, the Centrum, the Eng, Oostereng and Westereng, as well as Naarden-Bussum and Bussum Zuid stations. You give your exact address when you book, and the fixed price is the same for every address across Bussum, with no difference between neighbourhoods.
Six of us are travelling from Bussum - does that fit in one vehicle?+
Yes. The Van (a Mercedes V-Class or similar) carries 5 to 8 people including luggage for a fixed all-in price of €95. Split across the group that is often cheaper than six train tickets, and nobody has to stand on the platform juggling suitcases. You pay one amount for the whole vehicle, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
