From Bussum, in the leafy Gooise Meren municipality at the heart of affluent 't Gooi, it is around 39 kilometres to Schiphol and roughly 40 minutes outside the rush hour. In the morning or evening peak that can stretch to about 55 minutes.

From Bussum the driver takes the Ceintuurbaan or the Brediusweg out to the A1 towards Amsterdam. At the Diemen interchange the route switches to the A9, which runs through the Gaasperdammertunnel - at three kilometres the longest road tunnel in the Netherlands - past Amstelveen to the Badhoevedorp interchange, where the Schiphol exit follows.
Outside the rush hour this is a trip of around 40 minutes. In the morning peak (roughly 7:00-9:30) the A1 between Muiderberg and Diemen is the well-known bottleneck and the journey can stretch to about 55 minutes; in the evening peak that applies above all to the A9 around Amstelveen.
The driver builds this into the timing, and if the A1 grinds to a halt, the route via Hilversum and the A27/A2 is sometimes a useful alternative. The driver picks the fastest option on the day.

What time should I leave Bussum for an early flight at 07:00?+
Allow around 40 minutes for the journey itself, as the A1 and A9 are quiet that early, plus a good two hours to check in at Schiphol. That means a pick-up around 04:20 from your address in Bussum leaves comfortable margin. There is no night surcharge, so an early start like this still costs the same fixed price.
There is a direct train from Naarden-Bussum to Schiphol, so why take a car?+
That is true, and for a solo traveller with hand luggage only the Sprinter is often the cheapest option. A door-to-door car earns its keep once you are travelling with several people, a lot of luggage or outside the train times: you are collected at your door, you avoid hauling cases to the station, and split three or four ways the price per person comes close.
