Your route and departure time
From Zaandam you take the access roads to the A8 at the Zaandam interchange and head south towards the Coenplein. There you enter the Coentunnel and follow the A10-West past Sloterdijk to the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, where you join the A4 towards The Hague; the Schiphol exit brings you straight to the departure hall.
From Zaandam-Zuid and the Achtersluispolder, the driver often takes the Thorbeckeweg (N516) to reach the same Coentunnel corridor. The bottleneck on this route is the Coentunnel: during the morning rush hour (roughly 7:00-9:00) traffic towards Amsterdam regularly grinds to a halt, and the A10-West and De Nieuwe Meer fill up as well.
Outside rush hour the ride is short at around 30 minutes; during rush hour it can rise to around 45 minutes. Drivers keep an eye on live traffic information and set off earlier when it is busy.
Pickup in and around Zaandam
You are picked up anywhere in Zaandam: from Westerwatering and Oud West on the western side to Poelenburg, Peldersveld-Hoornseveld, the Rosmolenwijk and 't Kalf on the eastern side of the Zaan. If you live or are staying around Zaandam station, bear in mind that the Inverdan centre around the Gedempte Gracht is largely low-traffic; when booking, give an address at the edge of the pedestrian zone, and the driver will be there at the agreed time.

Let us know at least 4 hours before your scheduled pickup on 085 060 2543. We then move your ride to a new time free of charge, or you cancel with a 50% refund. If you tell us later than 4 hours ahead, or we can't reach you, the ride counts as a no-show without a refund.

What time do I need to be picked up in Zaandam for an 08:00 morning flight?
Work backwards: for a flight at 08:00 you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 to allow a good 2 hours to check in. The ride takes around 30 minutes outside rush hour, so a pickup time around 05:15 gives a comfortable margin.
Because you travel before the morning rush hour, the Coentunnel is usually still quiet.
Which route does the taxi take from Zaandam to Schiphol?
The standard route is the A8 via the Coenplein, through the Coentunnel, along the A10-West to the De Nieuwe Meer interchange and then the A4 to the Schiphol exit. That is 26 kilometres in total. If there is congestion in the Coentunnel, the driver checks live traffic information to see whether setting off earlier or taking an adjusted approach route is smarter.
Do you also pick up in districts such as Poelenburg, 't Kalf or Westerwatering?
Yes, the fixed price applies to any address in Zaandam, from 't Kalf in the north to the Achtersluispolder in the south, and on both sides of the Zaan. You simply enter your street and house number when booking; a driver will be at the door at the agreed time.
How does the taxi compare with the train from Zaandam?
True: direct trains run from Zaandam station to Schiphol, often in around 15 to 25 minutes. For a solo traveller with hand luggage that is fine. A taxi wins on door-to-door convenience: with suitcases, children, an early departure or a group, you get in at home and do not have to head to the station first.
