The motorway lies right beside the core, so the airport is closer than the quiet surroundings suggest: 37 kilometres, about 34 minutes outside rush hour.

From the Startingerweg or the Geesterweg you're at the A9's own exit in two minutes. That motorway runs south from here past Uitgeest and Heemskerk, dives under the North Sea Canal at Beverwijk and continues past Velsen and Haarlem.
At the Rottepolderplein your driver keeps following the A9 towards Badhoevedorp, where the A4 takes over the last kilometres to the terminal. That keeps it at 37 kilometres and, when it's quiet, a minute or 34.
The canal is the deciding factor: with works or an accident in the tunnel everything jams and the travel time shifts towards 50 minutes. There's then an alternative, because the Velsertunnel and the Wijkertunnel serve the same bank; the driver switches route as soon as one of the two is blocked.
It can also back up around Haarlem-Zuid in the morning.
Pick-up in Akersloot
The pick-up area runs from the Kerkbuurt and the Dorpsstraat to the houses along the Startingerweg, and further to the hamlets of Dorregeest and Boekel and the polder village of De Woude across the water. Addresses on the Boekelermeer business estate belong to it too.
There's no station: travellers normally first drive to Castricum, Uitgeest or Krommenie-Assendelft and board the train there. With luggage that means transferring twice, while a car at the door brings you to the departure hall in one movement.

No train runs from the village — what options are there?+
Right, you'd first have to go to Castricum or Uitgeest and change there towards the airport. With cases that soon costs more time than the ride itself, whereas with a taxi you leave from your own drive without intermediate stations.
How and when do I settle up?+
Payment happens online during booking, so well before the ride. That fixes the total amount and means nothing more needs arranging with your driver when getting in or out.
Can we pick someone up in Castricum on the way?+
