Your ride from Utrecht
A taxi from Utrecht to Schiphol costs €95 in Comfort, €115 in Premium, €125 in the Van (5-8 people) and €185 in VIP with Schipholride — fixed total prices that already include VAT, luggage and parking at Schiphol. The 52 km journey takes around 55 minutes outside peak hours and can rise to about 75 minutes during rush hour. Nothing is added along the way: the rate stays the same at night, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Each class tells you exactly what car pulls up at your door — a VW Passat or similar in Comfort, a Mercedes E-Class or similar in Premium, a V-Class or similar for groups and an S-Class or similar in VIP. For the return trip your flight is tracked live, with one hour of free waiting time after landing.
From Utrecht the driver almost always takes the A2 towards Amsterdam, past Breukelen and Abcoude. At the Holendrecht interchange the route joins the A9 past Amstelveen, and at the Badhoevedorp interchange you follow the A4 towards the terminal. Outside peak hours you reach the departure hall in roughly 55 minutes. The switch from the A2 to the A9 at Holendrecht is a well-known bottleneck: during the morning rush (roughly 07:00-09:30) and evening rush (16:00-19:00) the total travel time can climb to around 75 minutes. If you set off from Leidsche Rijn or Vleuten-De Meern, you join the A2 directly via Hooggelegen and skip the city traffic around the centre. From eastern districts such as Lunetten or Rijnsweerd, the approach first runs along the ring road (A27/A12) to the A2.
Pick-up in Utrecht
Pickup is possible in every Utrecht district: from Overvecht and Zuilen to Hoograven, Lunetten, Lombok and the new-build areas in Leidsche Rijn and Vleuten-De Meern. A station also works as a starting point — for example Utrecht Centraal on the Jaarbeurs side, where a car can pull up more easily than on the centre side. Do you live in the city centre? Large parts of it are low-traffic zones, so enter your full address when booking and the driver will find the nearest spot to stop. Business pickup addresses at Papendorp, Lage Weide or the Utrecht Science Park are all easy to reach by car.

Pick-up from Schiphol
On the way back to Utrecht, the A9 and A2 are almost empty late in the evening: the trip simply takes about 55 minutes, with no night surcharge. If you land in the afternoon, the evening rush towards Holendrecht and on the Utrecht ring road may come into play — the driver sees the live traffic and, if needed, takes the detour via the A4 and A12.
Frequently asked questions
What time does the taxi arrive for an 08:00 flight from Utrecht?+
For an 08:00 flight you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 — a good two hours to check in. Add the roughly 55 minutes of driving time and you arrive at a pickup around 05:00. At that hour the A2 is quiet and the fixed price simply applies, even in the middle of the night.
Isn't the train from Utrecht faster to Schiphol?+
From Utrecht Centraal a direct intercity reaches Schiphol in about half an hour — faster than by car. The taxi mainly wins on door-to-door convenience: you don't drag suitcases to the platform, you step in on your own street in, say, Overvecht or Vleuten-De Meern, and with four or more travellers the Van often works out close to the train fare per person.
Which route does the taxi take from Utrecht to Schiphol, and where is the traffic?+
The standard route runs via the A2 past Breukelen and Abcoude, switches to the A9 at the Holendrecht interchange and reaches the A4 towards Schiphol via the Badhoevedorp interchange. The best-known bottleneck is the A2-A9 switch at Holendrecht; during rush hour the travel time there can rise to around 75 minutes instead of the usual 55.
Will I be picked up in Leidsche Rijn, Vleuten-De Meern or at Utrecht Centraal?+
Yes, the fixed prices apply to all of Utrecht — so that includes Leidsche Rijn, Vleuten-De Meern, Overvecht, Lunetten and the other districts. At Utrecht Centraal the Jaarbeurs side is the best pickup point, because cars can pull up there. From Leidsche Rijn you actually join the A2 slightly faster via Hooggelegen than from the centre.
Can I travel with a group or business party from Utrecht to Schiphol?+
If you travel with five to eight people, everyone fits in the Van (a V-Class or comparable minibus) for €125 in total, luggage included. Pickup at Papendorp, Lage Weide, Rijnsweerd or the Utrecht Science Park is no problem; you receive an invoice and the amount is fixed in advance.
