Your route and departure time
From Groningen, the driver takes the A7 towards Drachten and Heerenveen. At the Joure interchange the main carriageway flows smoothly onto the A6, which runs through Flevoland via Lemmer, Emmeloord and Lelystad towards Almere.
At the Muiderberg interchange comes the A1 towards Amsterdam, then the A9 past Amstelveen to the Badhoevedorp interchange, where the A4 brings you to the Schiphol exit. The Frisian and Flevoland sections almost always keep moving; the delays sit mainly on the final stretch between Almere and Badhoevedorp.
On weekdays between 06:30 and 09:30 and between 16:00 and 19:00 the whole trip can stretch to ±200 minutes, while outside those windows it takes around ±155 minutes. For a morning flight you often leave before the rush and the A6 is nearly empty, one of the reasons a night-time run from Groningen tends to be surprisingly predictable.

Not in the north: the A7 and A6 through Friesland and Flevoland usually flow well. The bottleneck is on the final section, between Almere and the Badhoevedorp interchange on the A1 and A9. During the morning and evening rush the whole trip can therefore stretch to ±200 minutes; that is taken into account when planning your pick-up time.
Will I also be picked up in Beijum, Hoogkerk or at Zernike Campus?
Yes, every address in the municipality of Groningen falls within the coverage, from Beijum and Lewenborg in the north-east to Hoogkerk in the west. Pick-up at Zernike Campus, the Europapark or one of the three NS stations is also perfectly possible; for campuses or offices, just mention the building number so the driver waits at the right spot.
Can I also reach Schiphol well by rail from Groningen?
Honest answer: there is a direct intercity Groningen-Schiphol every hour that takes a good 2 hours, so on driving time alone there is little between them. The taxi takes ±155 minutes outside peak hours, but that is from your front door to the departure hall, with your cases in the boot.
For early flights before the first train, lots of luggage or a group, the taxi wins on convenience.
