Without traffic the journey lasts around 109 minutes; in the rush hour nearer 142. The convenience of the fixed figure: VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol are part of it, and nothing is added at night. From Friesland the railway means one or two changes via Leeuwarden or Zwolle, so a car at the door is frequently the more comfortable route.

From Sneek the driver takes the A7 south-west past Bolsward to the Afsluitdijk, crossing the great enclosure dam towards Noord-Holland. On the far side at Den Oever the A7 continues past Hoorn and Purmerend, until the A4 towards the terminal is reached via the A10 ring or the A8.
Off-peak this amounts to around 109 minutes. The Afsluitdijk itself normally flows freely but is sensitive to wind, roadworks and incidents; closer to Amsterdam, the stretch around Purmerend and the ring can snarl up, lifting the rush-hour journey to around 142 minutes.
With tight flight times the schedule is set generously, and the driver keeps an eye on conditions on the dijk and the ring.
From Sneek the ride heads via Bolsward across the Afsluitdijk. It usually flows, although strong wind, roadworks or an incident can cause a hold-up. After that come Hoorn, Purmerend and the Amsterdam ring road.

Living in the old centre near the Waterpoort, agree on a pick-up spot, as that area is partly car-free. From Duinterpen, Tinga or IJlst the A7 is close. The fixed fare of €205 in Comfort stays the same at any hour. There is no night or weekend surcharge, and no rush-hour supplement either.

Collection is available across Sneek: the districts of Duinterpen, Lemmerweg-Oost and Tinga, Noorderhoek, and the area around the Waterpoort in the old centre. Villages within the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân (IJlst, Scharnegoutum and Oppenhuizen among them) carry the same fixed price.

Without traffic the journey takes around 109 minutes. For an 08:00 flight you want to stand at the airport around 06:00, which comes down to a pick-up towards a quarter to four. That keeps you ahead of the morning bustle near Purmerend and the Amsterdam ring, at the normal tariff without night surcharge.
Can I travel on business from De Hemmen or Houkesloot?
