Your ride from Harlingen
Harlingen is the only seaport of Friesland, a historic harbour town on the Wadden Sea with a protected townscape, ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling and a lively fishing harbour. The distance from the Wadden Sea to the airport is 123 kilometres; you drive that in about two hours outside rush hour.
For a ride from the harbour you pay a rate fixed in advance: €185 (Comfort), €230 (Premium), €240 (Van) and €335 (VIP), each time including VAT, luggage and parking. For a night departure by the Willemshaven you pay nothing extra; surcharges outside office hours we don't charge.
You book the ride by the Wadden Sea up to at least 1 hour in advance and settle directly online, so the amount is fixed before the car pulls up.
From Harlingen your driver rides over the N31 towards Leeuwarden or via the A31 to the Afsluitdijk. Over the Afsluitdijk it goes past Den Oever into the head of North Holland, after which via the A7 past Hoorn and Purmerend and the A8 towards Zaandam the route runs to the Coenplein interchange and the A5, with the A4 and the Schiphol exit as endpoint.
The ride spans a good 120 kilometres; the sensitive stretch is on the A7 around Purmerend and the connection to the Amsterdam ring. The Afsluitdijk itself runs dead-straight, though work on the dyke can cause diversions.
Outside rush hour you reckon over the Afsluitdijk on an hour and a half to two hours.
Pick-up in Harlingen
Pick-up is possible throughout Harlingen: in the historic centre around the harbour and the Voorstraat, on the new-build in Harlingen-Oost and Plan Zuid, and by the Willemshaven and the ferry terminal. Addresses in neighbouring Midlum and Wijnaldum fall within the area too.

For the homeward ride to the harbour the driver is ready at the meeting point in the arrivals hall of Schiphol Plaza; he follows your flight, so a delay is no problem, and the first 60 minutes after landing you don't pay. Along the Wadden coast it then takes about two hours.

What's the ride price from the Willemshaven?+
The rates from the Wadden Sea are fixed: Comfort €185, Premium €230, Van €240, VIP €335, with VAT and the parking at Schiphol already included.
Why a taxi when Harlingen has a station?+
From the Willemshaven no direct train runs to Schiphol; you change in Leeuwarden. With cases and an early departure one ride to the departure hall is faster and calmer.
When does the driver pick me up at the Wadden Sea?+
Plan from the harbour about two hours for the ride and a good two hours for the handling at the airport; if your departure falls in the peak, the pick-up time moves forward a bit.
Best choice for a group?+
Then choose the Van, a Mercedes V-Class with room for five to eight passengers plus cases; from the area of the Wadden Sea it costs €240 as a fixed total amount, better than two separate cars.
How does cancelling from the harbour work?+
With a report at least 4 hours before the pick-up time we move your ride from the Willemshaven without cost, or you get half back; giving it later can no longer be done free.
Is a taxi cheaper than parking at Schiphol?+

How far in advance do I need to book my Schiphol taxi?+
You can book online up to 1 hour before pickup, day and night; only between 02:00 and 09:00 you can't book a ride departing that same morning. If online booking is no longer available, just call 085 060 2543 and we'll see what's possible. Booking earlier is always wise — especially in holiday periods.
