Your route and departure time
From Apeldoorn the driver almost always takes the A1 towards Amsterdam. Coming from the south of the city you join the motorway at the Beekbergen interchange, where the A50 also connects. The best-known bottleneck along the way is the Hoevelaken interchange near Amersfoort, where the A1 crosses the A28; on weekdays between roughly 7:00 and 9:30 there are regular tailbacks there.
After Hoevelaken the route continues via the Diemen interchange onto the A9, through the Gaasperdammertunnel past Amsterdam-Zuidoost, and via the Badhoevedorp interchange onto the A4 with the Schiphol exit. Outside rush hour that is a ride of about 80 minutes; leave in the middle of the morning peak and you should allow up to roughly 105 minutes.
