Wijchen lies just west of Nijmegen, a green municipality around a medieval castle and the Wijchens Meer, on the border of the river land and the Maas. The distance from Kasteel Wijchen to the airport is 120 kilometres; you drive that in about an hour and a half outside rush hour.
For a ride from Alverna you pay a rate fixed in advance: €180 (Comfort), €225 (Premium), €235 (Van) and €325 (VIP), each time including VAT, luggage and parking. A night departure from near the Wijchens Meer costs nothing extra, because there are no surcharges outside office hours.
You can book up to 1 hour in advance and pay online straight away, so the amount is fixed before the car pulls up.
Your route and departure time
From Wijchen your driver rides via the A326 to the A50, or via the A73 past Nijmegen heading north. At the Ewijk interchange it goes over the Waalbrug and further over the A50 to the Valburg interchange, after which the A15 runs westbound through the Betuwe towards the Deil interchange and the A2.
Via the A2 past Utrecht and the A12, or via the A27 and the A9, the driver reaches the Haarlemmermeer and the A4 with the Schiphol exit. The ride spans a good 120 kilometres; the sensitive point is around the Waalbrug at Ewijk and on the A2 around Utrecht, both known peak bottlenecks.
The A15 through the Betuwe usually runs smoothly. Outside rush hour the drive through the Betuwe takes an hour and a half to two hours.

There is no direct connection from the Wijchens Meer: by public transport you change in Nijmegen. Especially early in the morning or with lots of luggage, one direct ride is far more pleasant.
