Your ride from Lochem

Between the woods of the Lochemse Berg and the Twentekanaal, in the heart of the Achterhoek, Lochem lies roughly 143 kilometres from Schiphol. Off-peak the drive takes about 116 minutes, and the price is fixed before you leave: Comfort from €210 (VW Passat or similar), Premium €265 (Mercedes E-Class or similar), a Van for 5-8 people €275 (V-Class or similar) and VIP €450 (S-Class or similar).

VAT, luggage and airport parking are all included, with no night surcharge and free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. Public transport asks a lot here: from Lochem station you travel via Zutphen and Amersfoort or Apeldoorn, and with the journeys at each end you are soon two and a half hours or more under way.

A car that leaves from your doorstep without a single change is usually both quicker and considerably more relaxed than the train.

From Lochem the driver takes the N346 or the N332 towards Zutphen and onwards to the A1 near Deventer, or the N345 towards Apeldoorn. The A1 then carries the journey west past Apeldoorn and Amersfoort to the area around the Hoevelaken interchange, after which the route bends towards Utrecht.

At the Utrecht ring the A2, the Holendrecht interchange and the A9 connect through Badhoevedorp to the A4 and the Schiphol exit. In the morning rush the A1 around Amersfoort and the Utrecht ring are the known choke points, and the drive can stretch to about 151 minutes.

The driver knows this run through the Achterhoek and along the A1 well and follows the live traffic picture. Given the length of the trip, the pick-up time is planned with plenty of slack around your departure window.

Pick-up in Lochem

Pick-ups are arranged throughout the town and the villages of the municipality: from the centre near the Gudulakerk and the Markt to Gorssel, Eefde, Almen, Barchem, Epse and Harfsen. Homes towards the N346 and the A1 on the north-western side enjoy the shorter journey times in the range.

A business address on the Aalsvoort estate or along the Hanzeweg works fine as a starting point too; note the right entrance or unit number in the comments with your reservation.

Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Lochem

Coming home, the final section of the A1 towards Deventer and Zutphen can be slower in the evening bustle than the usual 116 minutes; allow the rush-hour margin there. Because your flight is tracked, the driver automatically moves with any delay, and the first hour of waiting after you land is free.

Excellent service for our trip from Schipol airport to Spijkenisse. Communication from the driver was excellent and we managed to arrange a earlier pick up based on his knowledge of how long the immigration queue would be. Very friendly, helpful and would highly recommend

Frequently asked questions

What does the Lochem to Schiphol ride cost?+

The Comfort class (VW Passat or similar) starts at €210. For more space or luxury the rates are €265 (Premium, Mercedes E-Class or similar), €275 (Van, 5 to 8 people) and €450 (VIP, S-Class or similar). Tax, luggage and airport parking are included across the board, so despite the distance you know the full amount in advance.

How long does it take from Lochem to Schiphol?+

Outside the rush you cover the roughly 143 kilometres in about 116 minutes via Zutphen, the A1 and the Utrecht ring. In the morning or evening peak that can rise to around 151 minutes through congestion near Amersfoort and Utrecht. Because of the length, the pick-up time is deliberately set early enough for a relaxed check-in.

Are the villages around Lochem collected too?+

Yes, besides the town itself Gorssel, Eefde, Almen, Barchem, Epse and Harfsen fall under the same fixed prices. From those villages your driver first heads for the N346 or the A1; the journey runs slightly longer than from the centre, but the fare stays the same.

How does payment for the ride work?+

You pay the fixed price online when booking, so there is nothing to settle in the car. No extra costs appear afterwards: tax, luggage and Schiphol parking are already inside the €210 for Comfort. That way you know exactly what the whole journey costs before you leave.

Can we pick someone up along the way?+

An intermediate stop is possible, for instance to collect a fellow traveller in Zutphen or along the A1. Pass the address on in the booking comments and the route and pick-up time are adjusted so the whole group reaches Schiphol comfortably on time.

How early should I be at Schiphol before my flight?+

Schiphol recommends 2 hours for a European flight and 3 hours for an intercontinental one. Your driver plans the pickup time around that, with a margin for rush hour.

How much do I pay per person?+

Nothing extra: the fixed price is per ride, not per person. Whether you travel alone or with four people in a Comfort, the amount stays the same.

Can I book a return trip in one go?+

Yes, you arrange your outbound and return ride in one booking with the return option in the booking flow. For the return your driver tracks your flight and 60 minutes of free waiting time apply.
