Between the woods of the Lochemse Berg and the Twentekanaal, in the heart of the Achterhoek, Lochem lies roughly 143 kilometres from Schiphol. Off-peak the drive takes about 116 minutes, and the price is fixed before you leave: Comfort from €210 (VW Passat or similar), Premium €265 (Mercedes E-Class or similar), a Van for 5-8 people €275 (V-Class or similar) and VIP €450 (S-Class or similar).
VAT, luggage and airport parking are all included, with no night surcharge and free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. Public transport asks a lot here: from Lochem station you travel via Zutphen and Amersfoort or Apeldoorn, and with the journeys at each end you are soon two and a half hours or more under way.
A car that leaves from your doorstep without a single change is usually both quicker and considerably more relaxed than the train.
Your route and departure time
From Lochem the driver takes the N346 or the N332 towards Zutphen and onwards to the A1 near Deventer, or the N345 towards Apeldoorn. The A1 then carries the journey west past Apeldoorn and Amersfoort to the area around the Hoevelaken interchange, after which the route bends towards Utrecht.
At the Utrecht ring the A2, the Holendrecht interchange and the A9 connect through Badhoevedorp to the A4 and the Schiphol exit. In the morning rush the A1 around Amersfoort and the Utrecht ring are the known choke points, and the drive can stretch to about 151 minutes.
The driver knows this run through the Achterhoek and along the A1 well and follows the live traffic picture. Given the length of the trip, the pick-up time is planned with plenty of slack around your departure window.
Lochem is more than the town around the Gudulakerk: Gorssel, Eefde, Almen, Barchem, Epse and Harfsen belong to it too, and each village sits at its own distance from the motorway. Living on the north-western side, towards the N346 and the A1, your driving time is at the favourable end.
The driver usually takes the N346 or N332 to the A1 at Deventer, or the N345 towards Apeldoorn, and then heads west past Amersfoort. A European flight at 07:00 means Schiphol by 05:00, two hours ahead. With about 116 minutes of night driving and 15 minutes of slack, you are collected at 02:45.
For a long-haul flight at 19:00 you want to be at Schiphol by 16:00, three hours early. In the afternoon the A1 around Amersfoort and the Utrecht ring often fill up, so the ride can run to about 151 minutes. Including 15 minutes of slack, your pick-up then becomes 13:10.
However early you set off, Comfort costs €210 and nothing is added: no surcharge at night or at weekends, and none at rush hour either.

Outside the rush you cover the roughly 143 kilometres in about 116 minutes via Zutphen, the A1 and the Utrecht ring. In the morning or evening peak that can rise to around 151 minutes through congestion near Amersfoort and Utrecht.
Because of the length, the pick-up time is deliberately set early enough for a relaxed check-in.
Are the villages around Lochem collected too?
Yes, besides the town itself Gorssel, Eefde, Almen, Barchem, Epse and Harfsen fall under the same fixed prices. From those villages your driver first heads for the N346 or the A1; the journey runs slightly longer than from the centre, but the fare stays the same.
Can we pick someone up along the way?

Outside the evening rush about 116 minutes, via the A1 and a final stretch past Deventer or Zutphen. If your landing falls in busy traffic, that stretch can take longer.
