Your taxi from Edam to Schiphol Airport
Edam is the cheese town of North Holland: a compact fortified town with little canals, drawbridges, the leaning Speeltoren and, in July and August, the traditional cheese market on the Jan Nieuwenhuizenplein. Whoever has to reach the airport from this historic setting books at a fixed total price: €80 in Comfort, €100 in Premium, €105 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €185 for VIP.
The ride spans 43 kilometres and takes about 46 minutes outside rush hour. Everything is in the rate: VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol, without a night or public-holiday surcharge. You settle directly at booking (at least 1 hour ahead), so nothing needs arranging along the way.
If you land back at Schiphol, your flight is tracked and 60 minutes of free waiting time applies.
Your route and departure time
Your driver leaves Edam via the Singelweg and turns onto the N247, the provincial road that runs south through Waterland. Past Katwoude and the Monnickendam exit it heads towards Het Schouw, where the N247 joins the A10 ring; via the Coentunnel and the A10-West you reach the De Nieuwe Meer interchange and then the A4 with the Schiphol exit.
Outside rush hour that 43-kilometre route takes about 46 minutes. In the morning peak the single-lane N247 towards Amsterdam-Noord is the known bottleneck and the journey can rise towards 66 minutes. If it's very busy there, your driver picks the wider variant via the N244 to the A7 and the Coentunnel: a little longer in distance, but often steadier in time.
Pickup in and around Edam
Pick-up is possible anywhere in Edam: in the old town around the Damplein and the Voorhaven, in the Singelwijk and on the Keetzijde. In the narrowest canal streets of the centre the car can't always stop right at the door; add your exact address at booking and the driver picks the nearest logical spot, for example the head of the street or a nearby quay.
Edam belongs to the Edam-Volendam municipality; an address just outside the town core can be arranged too.

How and when do I pay for the ride?

An intermediate stop is possible, but costs extra; give the desired stop when booking, so it's taken into the route and the price. That way you know exactly what the ride costs beforehand, even with an extra address.
What happens if my flight back to Schiphol is delayed?
Your driver follows the flight and adjusts the pick-up moment to the actual landing time. After landing there's also 60 minutes of free waiting time, ample for passport control and the baggage belt, even at a busy moment.
Where does the taxi drop me off at Schiphol?
