Oosthuizen is a ribbon village in the former Zeevang municipality, nowadays part of Edam-Volendam, with the Grote Kerk and its famed organ as its centrepiece and open meadow on all sides. Whoever lives here knows the N247 and the N244 as the two arteries to the rest of North Holland.
To the departure hall it's 46 kilometres; at a quiet moment that takes about 45 minutes. Schipholride handles the ride for a total amount fixed in advance: Comfort €80, Premium €100, the Van for five to eight people €105 and VIP €185.

The first kilometres go over the polder roads of the Zeevang to the N247, which runs south from Oosthuizen past Kwadijk and Edam towards Purmerend. There your driver usually picks the N244 to the A7, which comes out via the Zaanstreek and the Coentunnel on the A10-West; at the De Nieuwe Meer interchange the A4 follows and then the exit to the terminal.
An alternative runs directly over the N247 through Monnickendam and Broek in Waterland to Het Schouw and the ring at Amsterdam-Noord. At a calm hour that 46-kilometre route takes about 45 minutes. Delay almost always arises at two spots: the connection at Purmerend-Zuid and the Coentunnel, where the morning traffic towards Amsterdam converges.
If your pick-up time falls in the middle of the morning peak, reckon on some 66 minutes. For an early flight that hardly plays a role, as before six the whole corridor lies empty.
Pick-up in Oosthuizen
You're picked up in Oosthuizen itself and in the surrounding Zeevang cores: Kwadijk, Beets, Hobrede, Schardam and Etersheim all belong to it. In the village the car usually stops in the streets around the Grote Kerk or along the through ribbon, where there's plenty of room to load at ease.
The village has no train station; the nearest halts are in Purmerend and Hoorn, and from there at least one change is needed before you're at the airport. Give your full address when booking, and the driver pulls up without searching.

By public transport you begin with a bus to Purmerend or Hoorn and then change at least once more. With luggage or in the dark that costs a fair bit more time than one ride from your own drive to the departure hall.
Is there room for a party of six with luggage?+
Yes, then choose the Van: a Mercedes V-Class or similar in which five to eight passengers plus their cases fit. From Oosthuizen that's €105 as a fixed total price, which for a group usually works out better than two separate cars.
