Your ride from Urk
Urk is the old fishing village in the Noordoostpolder that was once an island in the Zuiderzee, with a language of its own, a busy harbour and the largest fish auction in the country. From the Noordoostpolder it's 82 kilometres to Schiphol, a little over an hour's drive outside rush hour.
With the IJsselmeer comes one fixed amount — Comfort €135, Premium €170, the eight-seat Van €175 and VIP €245 — in which VAT, cases and the parking charges at Schiphol are already counted. Night and public-holiday surcharges don't exist, so a night ride from the old harbour costs the same as during the day.
The reservation from the Noordoostpolder you make at the latest 1 hour ahead and settle online, which fixes the ride and the price.
From Urk your driver rides over the N352 into the Noordoostpolder towards Emmeloord, and picks up the A6 to the south there. From the A6 it goes past Lelystad and over the Houtribdijk or via Almere, after which at the Muiderberg interchange the A1 and A9 are picked up towards Amstelveen and the Badhoevedorp interchange, with the A4 and the Schiphol exit as endpoint.
The ride is a good 80 kilometres; the sensitive stretch is on the A6 around Almere and on the A9 at Amstelveen. The polder roads around Urk run dead-straight and smoothly. Outside rush hour you reckon on a good hour; if the A6 jams at Almere, the route via Lelystad and the A27 is an alternative.
Pick-up in Urk
Pick-up is possible throughout Urk: by the old harbour and the historic village on the former boulder-clay mound, in the new-build quarters of Oranjewijk and De Noord, and on the Zwolsche Hoek business estate.
Addresses by the Maritime Zone and the new Schokkerhoek residential quarter fall within the area too. If you live in the narrow streets of the old village, give a handy boarding point and your exact address. Note at booking your address with house number by the harbour or in the new-build, and the car pulls up right on time.
