Taxi Brielle to Schiphol

First the island: leaving Brielle over the N57 or the N218, the driver heads for the A15 connection at Spijkenisse and the Hartelkanaal, then follows the A15 and the A4 north past Rotterdam, Delft and Den Haag, on towards Leiden and the Schiphol exit.

Free of rush-hour pressure, the 77 kilometres are behind you after about 65 minutes. Voorne-Putten itself normally rides quietly; the pinch points sit on the A15 and A4 around Rotterdam and Den Haag, which fill during the morning and evening peaks.

In those windows the journey can lengthen to around an hour and a half. With the distance considerable and the Rotterdam rush unpredictable, your driver schedules the pick-up with ample slack, so you check in at the airport with time in hand.

An afternoon departure from Brielle needs plenty of room in your planning. With a long-haul flight at 19:00, Schiphol's advice puts you inside by 16:00. In the rush the 77 kilometres take 95 minutes, because the A15 and A4 fill up around Rotterdam and The Hague, so the driver collects you at 14:10.

At night it's a different story. For a European flight at 07:00, arriving at 05:00, you're on the road for 65 minutes, which makes 03:40 your pick-up. Both times carry a margin of 15 minutes.

Inside the ramparts the streets are narrow, so the car sometimes stops just round the corner rather than at the door. If you live in the old town near the Sint-Catharijnekerk, count those few steps with your cases.

From Vierpolders, Zwartewaal or Rugge the driver simply comes to your address. Then it's the N57 or the N218 off the island, joining the A15 near Spijkenisse. Early or late, the price is fixed. This fare has no night, weekend or rush-hour supplements, and Comfort costs €125.

Everywhere in Brielle counts: the historic centre within the ramparts, with its narrow streets and the Sint-Catharijnekerk, and the residential districts and new-build along the edges. Nearby villages on Voorne-Putten such as Vierpolders and Zwartewaal belong to the pick-up area too.

Inside the old fortress the driver stops as close to your address as possible or just around the corner; pass on the exact address at booking. Brielle has no railway station, so almost every ride begins at home.
