Your route and departure time
From Papendrecht the driver takes the N3 onto the A15 towards Rotterdam. At the Ridderkerk interchange the route switches to the A16 heading north, crosses the Van Brienenoord bridge, and then follows the A13 and the A4 to the Schiphol exit.
The busiest part comes early: the A15 between Papendrecht and Ridderkerk and the Van Brienenoord bridge often fill up on weekdays between 06:30 and 09:30, as does the evening peak from around 15:30 on the way home.
When congestion around Rotterdam is severe, the driver can divert via the A15 and the Beneluxtunnel on the A4, the official Rijkswaterstaat diversion route. It is also worth allowing for works on the N3 and the Papendrechtse bridge, which sometimes slow the approach towards Dordrecht.
The driver sets the departure time on the live traffic picture rather than on the ideal driving time, so the peak is built into the plan instead of arriving as a surprise.

Isn't the train from Papendrecht the easier option?
There is no direct service: from Papendrecht-Oost station you first change at Dordrecht before you can head towards Schiphol. With suitcases, an early flight or a family that quickly becomes awkward. The taxi runs door to door in around 70 minutes outside the rush hour, for a fixed price from €135 per journey, not per person, so you weigh up what suits you.
How does the driver deal with congestion around Rotterdam?
The standard route runs via the A15, the Ridderkerk interchange and the A16 over the Van Brienenoord bridge. If that grinds to a halt, the driver can divert via the Beneluxtunnel on the A4. The departure time is agreed in advance against the live traffic picture, so the peak is factored in rather than turning into an unwelcome surprise on the day.
Are all neighbourhoods in Papendrecht collected, including Oosteind?
Yes. Whether you live in Westpolder, Kraaihoek, Molenvliet or Wilgendonk, the address you enter is the pick-up point, with no surcharge per neighbourhood. Journeys from the Oosteind/Kooyhaven industrial estate are possible too, for example when you travel straight to your flight after a meeting at Boskalis or GKN Fokker without first heading home.
Seven of us are flying from Papendrecht. Does that fit in one vehicle?
