Your ride from Capelle aan den IJssel
From Capelle aan den IJssel to Schiphol is roughly 59 kilometres, and Schipholride arranges the whole journey for a fixed all-in price from €105 (Comfort, VW Passat or similar). VAT, your luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol are already included, and there is no night surcharge. Outside the rush hour the drive takes around 60 minutes; during the morning or evening peak it can stretch to roughly 85 minutes. You pick your own segment: Comfort at €105, Premium at €125 (Mercedes E-Class or similar), a Van for 5-8 people at €140 (V-Class or similar) or VIP at €210 (S-Class or similar). Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. If you are being collected at Schiphol, the flight is tracked live and you get 60 minutes of free waiting time after landing. At the agreed moment a screened driver is at your door, in any Capelle district.
From Capelle the driver usually joins the A20 towards Rotterdam at the Capelle aan den IJssel or Nieuwerkerk interchange. Since late October 2025 there is a faster cut-through at the Terbregseplein: the new A16 Rotterdam runs through the Rottemeren tunnel and feeds straight onto the A13 near Rotterdam The Hague Airport. From there the route follows the A13 past Delft and joins the A4 at the Ypenburg interchange towards Amsterdam, all the way to the Schiphol exit. The older line via the Kleinpolderplein stays a fallback when there is congestion or a tunnel closure. From Fascinatio, Rivium or 's-Gravenland the Abram van Rijckevorselweg towards the A16 is often the more logical on-ramp. Delays sit mainly on the A20 between Nieuwerkerk and the Terbregseplein in the morning, and on the A13 and A4 around Delft and Ypenburg, roughly between 7:00-9:30 and 16:00-18:30. Plan your departure outside those windows and you usually reach Schiphol inside the hour. The driver picks the fastest option on the day.
Pick-up in Capelle aan den IJssel
A driver collects you in any Capelle district: Middelwatering around the centre and De Koperwiek, Schollevaar, Schenkel, Oostgaarde, Capelle-West, 's-Gravenland and Fascinatio. Office addresses on Rivium and along the Hoofdweg work as pick-up points too, which is handy if you are heading straight from work to your flight. If you would rather board at Capelle Schollevaar station or a metro stop on line C, such as Capelsebrug or De Terp, simply give that as your pick-up address when you book. The fixed price stays the same across the whole town, whichever district you are in.

Pick-up from Schiphol
Land late in the evening at Schiphol and public transport back to Capelle gets awkward: the train needs at least one change in Rotterdam, and Schollevaar station only sits conveniently for the northern districts. A screened driver sets you down at your own address instead, whether that is Oostgaarde, Capelle-West or anywhere else, with no night surcharge however late it gets. Your flight is tracked live, so a delay simply means the driver is ready when you actually land.
Frequently asked questions
How early should I leave Capelle aan den IJssel for an 08:00 morning flight?+
Work it back: for an 08:00 departure you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00, allowing a good two hours for check-in and security. With about 60 minutes of driving time and no rush hour that early, a pick-up around 04:45-05:00 leaves plenty of margin. There is no night surcharge, so this early run costs exactly the same as one in daytime.
Is there a direct train from Capelle Schollevaar station to Schiphol?+
No. From Capelle Schollevaar only sprinters run towards Rotterdam and Gouda; for Schiphol you change at least once, onto the intercity via Leiden at Rotterdam Centraal. That often makes the train slower than the roughly 60-minute drive, especially with luggage or from districts without a station, such as Oostgaarde or Capelle-West.
Can I be collected in Schollevaar, Fascinatio or Capelle-West as well?+
Yes, every district of Capelle aan den IJssel falls under the same fixed price: Middelwatering, Schollevaar, Schenkel, Oostgaarde, Capelle-West, 's-Gravenland and Fascinatio. A pick-up at an office on Rivium or along the Hoofdweg works just as easily. You enter your exact address when you book, and the driver is there at the agreed time.
Does the new A16 Rotterdam actually help the drive from Capelle?+
Yes. Since 27 October 2025 the A16 Rotterdam through the Rottemeren tunnel has been fully open. From the Terbregseplein the driver can run straight onto the A13 near Rotterdam The Hague Airport, skipping the busy Kleinpolderplein. During the rush hour in particular that makes the journey towards the A4 and Schiphol noticeably more reliable.
Seven of us are travelling from Capelle — will we fit in one vehicle?+
Yes, the Van (Mercedes V-Class or similar) carries 5 to 8 people for a fixed all-in price of €140, including luggage and parking at Schiphol. Per person that works out cheaper than two separate taxis, and your whole group travels together with all the suitcases in a single vehicle from one Capelle address.
