Warmond is the water-sports village of the Teylingen municipality: marinas on the Kagerplassen lakes, the island of Koudenhoorn, old country estates along the Herenweg and a core that fills with boats in summer.
Whoever has to reach the airport from here covers 26 kilometres and is on the road about 27 minutes outside rush hour. The price is known in advance and doesn't change: €50 in Comfort, €65 in Premium, €70 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €120 for VIP.
VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol are in the rate. For a ride in the middle of the night or on Christmas Day too you pay not a cent extra. Reservation is possible up to one hour before departure, payment is made directly online.
The ride starts in the core, usually via the Herenweg or the Oosteinde towards the N444. That road brings you in a few minutes to the Warmond junction on the A44, after which your driver heads towards Amsterdam.
The A44 runs past Sassenheim to the Burgerveen interchange and becomes the A4 there; via Hoofddorp the Schiphol exit is soon reached. Twenty-six kilometres in all, about 27 minutes outside rush hour. The busiest stretch is the A4 between Burgerveen and Hoofddorp, where in the morning peak all the traffic from the Leiden region converges; things can run stiff around the bridge on the N444 too.
The journey then rises towards 40 minutes. Your driver checks the traffic picture just before departure and, on a peak ride, leaves home earlier.
Pick-up in Warmond
The pick-up area runs from the Middelbuurt and the village core to Westeinde-Lommerlust, Kloosterland-Endepoel and Hennepoel, and on to the marinas in the Veerpolder and on the Oosteinde. If you sail off from Warmond and fly from Schiphol, the car is simply arranged at the harbour or your mooring, near the Huys te Warmont estate.
Warmond no longer has a station of its own; Sassenheim station is a few kilometres away and requires another change towards the airport.
