Voorhout is the fastest-grown village in the Bollenstreek: around the old Herenstraat came Oosthout, Hoogh Teylingen and Hooghkamer in turn, with the bulb fields and the Ruïne van Teylingen as a green frame. The village belongs to the Teylingen municipality.
Schiphol lies 27 kilometres away, good for about 28 minutes' drive outside rush hour. The fixed total price is €50 in Comfort, €65 in Premium, €70 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €125 for VIP. That amount includes VAT, luggage and the parking charges at Schiphol; a night or public-holiday surcharge doesn't exist, so leaving at four in the morning costs the same as in the middle of the day.
You book at least one hour ahead and pay online straight away.
From Voorhout it goes via the Noordelijke Randweg or the N444 to the Sassenheim junction on the A44. There your driver turns towards Amsterdam: the A44 runs past the bulb fields and the Kagerplassen straight to the Burgerveen interchange, where the road becomes the A4.
From Burgerveen it's a short stretch past Hoofddorp to the Schiphol exit. Twenty-seven kilometres, about 28 minutes outside rush hour and largely on the motorway. In the morning peak the bottleneck is mainly on the A4 between Burgerveen and Hoofddorp, where traffic from Leiden and The Hague converges; the on-ramp at Sassenheim fills up then too.
The journey can rise towards 42 minutes. For an early flight that's rarely a problem, but your driver checks beforehand whether the route is clear.
Pick-up in Voorhout
You're picked up in the Oude Dorp around the Herenstraat, in Oosthout, Hoogh Teylingen and the newer quarters of Hooghkamer with the Componisten- and Bollenbuurt, and just as readily at an address along the bulb fields towards Noordwijkerhout.
Voorhout station lies on the Leiden-Haarlem line; to the airport that means changing, usually in Leiden or Haarlem. Whoever leaves early in the morning or travels with a family and cases is clearly sooner done with a car at the door.

Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Voorhout

How much do I pay for Voorhout to Schiphol?+
Reckon on €50 for Comfort, €65 for Premium, €70 for the Van with five to eight people and €125 for VIP. These fixed total prices include VAT, luggage and the parking charges at Schiphol, whatever the time of departure.
Can't I just take the train from Voorhout station?+
You can, but no direct train runs to Schiphol: you change on the way in Leiden or Haarlem. With luggage and an early departure a door-to-door taxi usually gets you to the airport sooner and more calmly.
When do I pay for the ride?+
You settle directly online at booking. That fixes the price definitively and means nothing more to arrange in the car, not even for cases or the parking at Schiphol.
My flight is cancelled, what now?+
Report it at least four hours before the agreed pick-up time. The ride is then rebooked free of charge to another moment, or you get 50 percent of the amount paid back to your account.
We're travelling to the airport with seven people, does that fit?+
Yes. The Van, a Mercedes V-Class or similar, carries five to eight people with luggage and costs €70 from Voorhout. One car for the whole party is cheaper than booking two sedans.
How far in advance do I need to book my Schiphol taxi?+
You can book online up to 1 hour before pickup, day and night; only between 02:00 and 09:00 you can't book a ride departing that same morning. If online booking is no longer available, just call 085 060 2543 and we'll see what's possible. Booking earlier is always wise — especially in holiday periods.
