Your ride from Lisse

Few towns sit as close to Schiphol as Lisse, the beating heart of the Dutch bulb region. With just 21 kilometres to cover, Schipholride arranges a screened driver who will have you at the terminal in around 25 minutes outside the rush hour, or roughly 35 minutes when the morning or evening peak bites. The price is fixed and all-in from €70, with VAT, luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol already covered, and there is no night surcharge. You pick the class that suits you: Comfort (€70, VW Passat or similar), Premium (€85, Mercedes E-Class or similar), Van for 5-8 people (€95, V-Class or similar) or VIP (€140, S-Class or similar). Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, and for an arrival pick-up your flight is tracked live with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.

From Lisse the driver usually heads out on the N208 and joins the N207, crossing the Ringvaart over the Elsbroekerbrug before cutting straight across the Haarlemmermeer polder to reach the A4 at the Nieuw-Vennep junction, then a short final stretch of motorway brings you to the airport. With only a single motorway section involved, the run holds steady at around 25 minutes when traffic is light. During the peaks, roughly 7:00 to 9:30 and 16:00 to 18:30, queues build on the N207 by the Ringvaart and on the A4 near the De Hoek interchange, stretching the journey to around 35 minutes. The trickiest period is the Keukenhof season, from mid-March to mid-May, when sunny days and weekends draw crowds to the flower fields and the N208 and N207 around Lisse fill up. The driver allows for that and, if needed, slips around the worst of it via Hillegom and the N205.

Pick-up in Lisse

You can be collected anywhere in Lisse, from the Centrum and the Bloemenbuurt to newer districts such as Meerenburgh, the Poelpolder and Geestwater, and out in the hamlet of De Engel along the N208. Lisse has no railway station of its own; the old one closed decades ago, so a door-to-door taxi saves you a bus ride to Sassenheim or Hillegom and a change on top. Pick-up at a firm on the Meer en Duin or Dever business parks, or near Keukenhof itself, is just as straightforward. Give your full address when you book and the driver will be waiting at the agreed time.

Pick-up from Schiphol

On the return leg from Schiphol your flight is tracked live, so if your plane lands late the pick-up time simply shifts with it and you still get 60 minutes of free waiting after touchdown. Land late in the evening or well after midnight and the fare to Lisse stays exactly the same, because there is no night surcharge. If you arrive on a busy Keukenhof day in spring, the driver plans the route back to Lisse to steer clear of the congestion on the N208.

Frequently asked questions

How early should I leave Lisse for an 08:00 flight?+

Allow around 25 minutes of driving plus a good two hours for check-in and security, so for an 08:00 departure a pick-up around 05:30 leaves comfortable margin. Because there is no night surcharge, that early start still costs the same fixed all-in price from €70 that you would pay at any other time of day.

Will the Keukenhof crowds slow down my trip to Schiphol?+

From mid-March to mid-May the N208 and N207 around Lisse can get busy, especially at weekends and on sunny days when visitors flock to Keukenhof and the bulb fields. The driver knows the local back routes and allows extra time, and your fixed price does not change even if the journey runs a little longer than usual.

Why take a taxi when there is also a train option from Lisse?+

It is not a direct one. Lisse has no railway station, so you would first take a bus to Sassenheim or Hillegom and then change to a train. With plenty of luggage, an early flight or the whole family along, a door-to-door taxi is usually far more practical, especially with Schiphol only 21 kilometres away.

Do you collect in De Engel, the Poelpolder or outside the centre?+

Yes, the fixed price covers the whole of Lisse: the Centrum, Meerenburgh, Geestwater, the Poelpolder and the hamlet of De Engel along the N208. Pick-up at a business on the Meer en Duin or Dever industrial estates is no problem either. Just give the exact address when you book and the driver will be there.

Can a group of seven with flower-region luggage fit in one vehicle?+

Yes. The Van class, a Mercedes V-Class or similar, carries 5 to 8 people plus their cases for a fixed all-in price of €95 from Lisse. Per head that often works out cheaper than travelling separately by bus and train, and you all set off together from a single address rather than juggling connections.
