The run covers 31 kilometres and takes around 30 minutes outside the rush hour, rising to roughly 45 minutes when the motorways fill up.
Worth knowing: Noordwijk has no railway station of its own, so by public transport you first take a bus to Voorhout, Sassenheim or Leiden before you even reach a train towards the airport. A taxi simply collects you at your door (in Noordwijk aan Zee, Noordwijk Binnen, Noordwijkerhout or De Zilk) and drops you at the right departure hall.

Your route and departure time
From Noordwijk the driver heads inland on the N444, passing through Voorhout to the Noordwijk junction on the A44. At the Burgerveen interchange the A44 merges into the A4 towards Amsterdam, after which the Schiphol exit follows quickly.
The journey is almost entirely motorway and covers 31 kilometres; outside the busy hours you are standing in front of the departure hall in around 30 minutes. The A44 and A4 do count among the busiest corridors in the Randstad, though: between roughly 07:00 and 09:30 in the morning and 16:00 and 18:30 in the afternoon, the travel time can stretch to around 45 minutes.
The N444 itself, near the Nagelbrug at Voorhout, can also crawl during the rush. From Noordwijkerhout and De Zilk the approach runs via the N206 and local roads towards the A44 and works out a similar length. If you leave very early, the roads are all but empty and you will almost certainly cover the trip in around 30 minutes.

Drivers collect right across the municipality: from the boulevard and the seafront hotels in Noordwijk aan Zee to the Kerkstraat area in Noordwijk Binnen, and out in Noordwijkerhout and De Zilk too. In summer and on beach days the streets around the Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard are noticeably busier, and the driver allows for that when approaching.
Business pick-ups near ESTEC and the Space Business Park on the Keplerlaan are routine, handy if you are flying out straight after a meeting or a conference at one of the resort hotels. Just give your full address or the hotel and entrance when you book.

Allow around 30 minutes of driving outside the rush hour plus a good two hours for check-in and security. For an 08:00 departure, a pick-up around 05:15 to 05:30 leaves plenty of margin. That early the N206 and A44 are still quiet, and SchipholRide charges no night surcharge for the early hour.
How does a taxi compare with the train from Noordwijk?
There is no direct option: Noordwijk has no railway station of its own. You first take a bus to Voorhout, Sassenheim or Leiden and change to a train there. With luggage, an early flight or a group, a door-to-door taxi from your address to the departure hall is often the more practical choice.
Which roads does the journey use and where does it get congested?

For business travel many choose Premium (Mercedes E-Class or similar, €75) or VIP (S-Class or similar, €140); for a delegation of up to 8 people there is the Van at €80, VAT and parking included.
Can I get a child seat for the ride to Schiphol?
Yes. At the vehicle step of the booking form, select a Maxi-Cosi (infant seat) or toddler seat: €15 once per booking. Your driver will have the seat ready and installed.
How early should I be at Schiphol before my flight?
