Roelofarendsveen is the largest core of the Kaag en Braassem municipality, a growers' village in the peat polder near the Braassemermeer, with greenhouses along the Noordeinde and Zuideinde ribbons and the growing new-build quarter of Braassemerland.
Schiphol is surprisingly close: 20 kilometres, about 21 minutes outside rush hour. The price is fixed in advance: €40 in Comfort, €50 in Premium, €55 for the Van that carries five to eight people and €100 for VIP.
VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol come as standard, and for a night ride or a public holiday not a cent of surcharge applies. You book online, at least one hour before departure; you pay straight away, so the amount doesn't change after that.
You can hardly be nearer a motorway than here: Roelofarendsveen has its own exit on the A4. From the village you drive via the Alkemadelaan to that junction in a few minutes and turn onto the A4 towards Amsterdam.
At the Burgerveen interchange traffic from the A44 merges, after which the motorway runs past Nieuw-Vennep and Hoofddorp to the Schiphol exit. You cover the 20 kilometres in about 21 minutes outside rush hour.
In the morning peak it backs up around Burgerveen and Hoofddorp and the journey can rise towards 32 minutes; still a short ride, but your driver allows for it when planning the pick-up time. In the evening and at the weekend the route is almost always quiet.
Pick-up in Roelofarendsveen
Drivers pick up along the whole of the ribbons: Noordeinde, Zuideinde and Westeinde, with their mix of homes and nurseries, and of course in the new streets of Braassemerland and around the Noordplein, near the Veenderveld business area.
In the neighbouring villages of Oude Wetering and Nieuwe Wetering the car simply pulls up at the door too. The village has no train station: by public transport you first take the bus and then change at least once onto the train.

How and when do I pay for the ride?+

The Van (Mercedes V-Class or similar) carries five to eight people including ample luggage for €55 fixed. For a group of friends or a family from Roelofarendsveen that's almost always cheaper than two separate cars.
My flight is cancelled, what now?+
