Your ride from Leimuiden
Leimuiden lies on the Drecht on the border of South Holland and North Holland, between the Westeinderplassen and the ribbon of villages along the N207. Schiphol lies 14 kilometres from the Drecht; outside rush hour you're there in a good twenty minutes.
You know the amount from Bilderdam before you book: Comfort €35, Premium €45, Van €50 and VIP €65, all including VAT, luggage and the parking at the airport. The time makes no difference to the price — night and public-holiday surcharges we know at the Westeinderplassen no more than elsewhere.
Place your reservation by the Drecht at least 1 hour in advance and pay online, then the ride is settled and the price final.
From Leimuiden your driver first takes the N207 heading north, past Rijnsaterwoude and over the Ringvaart into the Haarlemmermeer. At Nieuw-Vennep or Abbenes it goes via the N205 to the A4, after which the Schiphol exit lies a few minutes further on.
With congestion on the N207 the driver can also divert east via the N231 past Uithoorn and so enter the airport at Schiphol-Oost. The awkward point is usually at the bridge over the Drecht and the connection to the Haarlemmermeer ring, where the local traffic converges; in the morning peak the ride can then rise towards half an hour.
If the A4 is jammed, the parallel road past Hoofddorp offers an alternative. With those fourteen kilometres Leimuiden-Schiphol remains, whatever happens, one of the shorter rides to the airport.
Pick-up in Leimuiden
Pick-up is possible throughout Leimuiden and the neighbouring hamlets: in the village itself, in Bilderdam along the Drecht, and on the side of Rijnsaterwoude and Burgerveen. Addresses on the Drechthoek business estate fall within the area too.
If you live on one of the narrow dyke lanes along the water, give your exact house number, then your driver allows for the approach route. Give your exact address in Bilderdam or the village in the reservation, so the driver picks you up right on time at the front door.
