Short in kilometres, but not in minutes: the route to Schiphol runs largely over provincial roads. From the Bennebroekerlaan or the Rijksstraatweg your driver heads north to the N201 near Heemstede, crosses the Ringvaart at the Cruquiusbrug and drives into the Haarlemmermeer polder, past Hoofddorp to the connection with the A4 and the Schiphol exit.
An alternative starts closer to home: via the Zwarteweg and the Bennebroekerweg through Zwaanshoek, then over the Nieuwe Bennebroekerweg past Hoofddorp-Zuid. Both variants cover those 19 kilometres in about 27 minutes outside rush hour.
The delay sits in the traffic lights on the N201 and at the Cruquiusbrug, which opens for shipping; in the morning and evening peak the journey can rise towards 40 minutes. Your driver picks the route running smoothest at that moment just before departure.

Bennebroek has no train station; Heemstede-Aerdenhout and Hillegom are a few kilometres away and require a change towards the airport anyway.
