Your ride from Overveen
Overveen sits wedged between the western edge of Haarlem and the Kennemerduinen: a village of old estates, broad avenues and a station where beachgoers get off. Between the village and the departure hall lies 23 kilometres; outside rush hour you drive that in about 27 minutes.
The price is fixed at booking: €45 in Comfort, €55 in Premium, €60 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €110 for VIP. VAT, luggage and parking at the terminal are in that amount, and there is no night surcharge — leaving at half past four in the morning costs exactly the same as a ride on a Sunday afternoon.
You reserve at least 1 hour in advance; you settle directly online so nothing needs arranging when you get in.
The first minutes go through the village itself: via the Bloemendaalseweg and the Zijlweg, or from the Duinlustweg past the Brouwerskolkpark, your driver turns onto the Westelijke Randweg on the edge of Haarlem.
That ring road runs south to the Schipholweg, where you head in almost a straight line towards the Rottepolderplein. There the A9 begins, which runs past Haarlem-Zuid and Hoofddorp to the Badhoevedorp interchange and becomes the A4 with the airport exit.
The whole route measures 23 kilometres and asks about 27 minutes outside rush hour. The bottleneck isn't in Overveen but further on: the ring road past Haarlem and the approach to the Rottepolderplein fill up in the morning and late afternoon, so the journey can rise towards 41 minutes.
On warm days beach traffic over the Zeeweg adds to it. Your driver checks the live traffic picture just before departure and, on a peak-hour ride, simply leaves earlier.
Pick-up in Overveen
Pick-up happens throughout the village: in the streets around the Bloemendaalseweg and the shops, in Oldenhove, in Overveen-West and by the villas along the Elswoutlaan and the Duinlustweg near the Elswout estate.
At most addresses the driver simply stops at the drive; only at the station and on the narrowest parts of the Zijlweg does he agree a handier spot beforehand. Overveen station is on the Haarlem–Zandvoort line, so by train you first head the wrong way or change in Haarlem.
With cases, riding from your own front door is a good deal simpler.

What do I pay for Overveen to Schiphol?+
The fixed total price is €45 for Comfort, €55 for Premium, €60 for the Van seating five to eight and €110 for VIP. VAT, luggage and the parking charges at the airport are already in it, and at night the same amount applies.
Can the driver pick someone up in Haarlem or Bloemendaal on the way?+
An intermediate stop is possible, but not free: the extra address and the extra minutes are added to the price. Give the stop when booking so you know beforehand what the complete ride will cost.
What time do I leave Overveen for a 06:30 flight?+
Allow a good two hours for check-in and security plus about 27 minutes' driving time. For a departure at 06:30 that comes out at a pick-up around 03:45. Driving that early costs nothing extra, as Schipholride charges no night surcharge.
Isn't the train from Overveen station a faster option?+
From Overveen no direct train runs to Schiphol; you change in Haarlem or Amsterdam Sloterdijk and, including waiting, are soon longer on the way. If you travel light and live near the station, the train stays a fine cheaper alternative.
How long does the driver wait if my case takes ages?+
After landing you have 60 minutes of free waiting time, ample for customs and a slow baggage belt. Because the flight is tracked live, that time only starts the moment your aircraft is actually at the gate.
Do I get an invoice with VAT for my ride?+

Is a taxi cheaper than parking at Schiphol?+

How far in advance do I need to book my Schiphol taxi?+
You can book online up to 1 hour before pickup, day and night; only between 02:00 and 09:00 you can't book a ride departing that same morning.
