Taxi Spaarndam to Schiphol

Leaving Spaarndam means a stretch of local road first, along the Spaarne and the Spaarndammerdijk towards the edge of Haarlem, or over the Slaperdijk towards the A9. From the eastern side the driver typically picks up the N202 and then the A9 southbound, or joins the A4 corridor via the N200 and A9; the final kilometres on the A4 lead straight to the Schiphol exit.

Outside the busy hours the 21 kilometres take about 27 minutes door to departure hall. Hold-ups rarely start in the village itself; they build on the A9 around Haarlem-Zuid and Badhoevedorp, where morning and evening peaks can push the journey to forty minutes or slightly more.

Your driver picks the smoothest variant for the time of day and allows for that congestion when setting the pick-up time, so you check in with margin to spare.

In Spaarndam itself you rarely sit still. What sets your pick-up time is the A9 around Haarlem-Zuid and Badhoevedorp. An intercontinental flight at 19:00 means three hours ahead at Schiphol, so 16:00, and that puts you on that part of the A9 in the afternoon rush.

Count on around 40 minutes then, rather than the usual 27. With 15 minutes of extra margin the driver collects you at 15:05, in Spaarndam-Oost by the lock or in Spaarndam-West on the Haarlem side.

For a European flight at 07:00 the sums are shorter. Two hours ahead becomes 05:00 at Schiphol; the 21 kilometres take around 27 minutes at night, and with 15 minutes of slack you are picked up at 04:15. In the narrow streets around the lock it helps to agree on a stopping spot around the corner, so nobody has to search when the car arrives.

The village has no railway station, so nearly every ride simply starts at your home. At 04:15 Comfort costs €54, and at 15:05 it costs the same; there is no night, weekend or rush-hour surcharge.

Collection works on both banks of the Spaarne: picturesque Spaarndam-Oost with its lock and historic core, and the newer Spaarndam-West on the Haarlem side. Streets in the old village are narrow and not always easy for cars, so give your exact address and the driver will stop as close to the door as possible, or at a sensible spot around the corner.
