Weesp has belonged to the municipality of Amsterdam since 2022, yet this fortified town on the Vecht, tucked against the Gooi on the capital's south-eastern flank, keeps a character all of its own. Schiphol lies 29 kilometres away — around 34 minutes off-peak — and a fixed-price taxi spares you the detour through central Amsterdam.
The fare is known before you travel: €65 in Comfort (VW Passat or similar), €80 in Premium (Mercedes E-Class or similar), €85 for the Van seating up to eight (V-Class or similar) and €125 in VIP (S-Class or similar).
VAT, suitcases and the Schiphol parking are all part of it, and no night supplement applies — not even for a 05:00 collection from one of the new riverside neighbourhoods. Landing back at Schiphol, the driver keeps track of your flight and times the pick-up to your arrival.
The usual route from Weesp runs over the A1 and the Amsterdam ring. The driver heads for the A1 first, follows it west towards the Watergraafsmeer interchange, then switches to the A10-east and the southern ring before joining the A4 at De Nieuwe Meer for the Schiphol exit.
Without traffic, the 29 kilometres are done in roughly 34 minutes. The fragile section is the southern A10 around Amsterdam-Zuid and the Zuidas, notorious in the morning and evening rush; the journey can then run towards fifty minutes.
When it clogs, the driver can switch to an alternative over the A9 past Amstelveen and Badhoevedorp, avoiding the Zuidas altogether. The rush-hour window is built into your pick-up time, so you arrive at the terminal with plenty in hand.
Pick-up in Weesp
Pick-ups span the whole of Weesp: the historic fortress with its canals and the Grote Kerk, and newer quarters such as Aetsveld, Hogewey and the Vecht-side new-build of Weespersluis. In the narrow streets of the old centre the driver stops as close to your address as possible or at a logical point around the corner — supply the exact address when booking.
Weesp station is a busy junction with a direct train to Schiphol, but with suitcases or at first light a door-to-door taxi is often the more comfortable route. Collection from a company on one of the local business parks can be arranged too.
