A Schiphol taxi from Vijfhuizen needs few kilometres: the village lies right by the airport. Vijfhuizen is an old dyke village on the northern edge of the Haarlemmermeer that gained a second face with the Vinex quarter of Stellinghof.
Fort Vijfhuizen from the Stelling van Amsterdam and the Haarlemmermeerse Bos are around the corner. By road it's 18 kilometres to Schiphol Airport, about 22 minutes outside rush hour. The price is fixed in advance and among the lowest in the region: €40 in Comfort, €50 in Premium, €55 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €95 for VIP.
VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol are already in it. Schipholride knows no surcharges, so a ride at half past four in the morning costs the same as one on a Sunday afternoon. You reserve your taxi with direct online payment up to an hour ahead; only those booking between 02:00 and 09:00 for that same morning are out of luck.
From the village your driver takes the Vijfhuizerweg or the Spieringweg to the N205, the Drie Merenweg. At Cruquius it crosses the N201; from there the route runs east past Hoofddorp to the A4, where the Schiphol exit already follows after a few kilometres.
Eighteen kilometres, about 22 minutes outside rush hour. If it jams on the N201 or around Hoofddorp, there's a northern alternative: over the N205 towards the A9 and the Badhoevedorp interchange onto the A4. In the morning peak the traffic lights on the N201 and the on-ramps at Schiphol-Noord are the delayers; reckon then on a journey towards 33 minutes.
Because the distance is short the hold-up stays limited, but your driver checks the traffic picture before departure and picks the faster of the two routes.
Pick-up in Vijfhuizen
Pick-up happens throughout Vijfhuizen: in Stellinghof with its striking architecture, in the Mient, Nes and Baarsjes quarters, along the old ribbon by the Vijfhuizerdijk and at Nieuwebrug on the Ringvaart. An address by Expo Haarlemmermeer or the Kunstfort is fine too.
Give your full address at booking and the car is at the door on time. If you travel with several people, also mention the number of cases: the affiliated drivers match the car to it. The village has no train station: by bus with a change in Hoofddorp or Haarlem you're soon longer on the way with cases than the ride itself takes.

Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Vijfhuizen
On return you meet your driver at the meeting point in the arrivals hall of Schiphol Plaza. The flight status is tracked, so with an early landing or a delay the pick-up moment shifts of its own accord. After landing you have 60 minutes of free waiting time for passport control and the baggage belt.
The ride from Schiphol is also booked in advance at a fixed price, so in the arrivals hall there's nothing left to arrange. Then the return takes about 22 minutes outside rush hour and you're back in Vijfhuizen.

What time do I leave for a 06:30 flight?+
Reckon on a good two hours for check-in and security, plus about 22 minutes' driving from Vijfhuizen. For a 06:30 flight you come out at a pick-up around 04:00, without that early time costing anything extra.
How far ahead should I book such a short ride?+
Up to 1 hour beforehand, even though the ride only takes 22 minutes; only between 02:00 and 09:00 can you no longer book a ride departing that same morning. That way a driver is certainly ready and your pick-up time is fixed at the agreed moment.
