Aalsmeer sits remarkably close to Schiphol, yet the village has no railway station of its own, so reaching the airport by public transport means a bus with at least one change. Your route and departure time
From Aalsmeer the driver picks up the N201, which since the bypass works now runs around the village rather than through it and carries you swiftly towards the Haarlemmermeer. Near Schiphol-Rijk the route joins the Fokkerweg (N232), tracking the eastern edge of the airport towards the terminal.
If that stretch is busy, the driver can cut across on the N201 to the A4 at Hoofddorp instead. Two local pinch points are worth knowing about. The first is the ordinary morning and evening rush on the N201, a key east-west link across the region, when the journey can stretch to around 25 minutes.
The second is the freight traffic around Royal FloraHolland on the Legmeerdijk (N231): the flower auction is already in full swing in the small hours, putting plenty of lorries on the roads near Green Park. For an early flight SchipholRide therefore builds in a generous pick-up window, yet even at its busiest the Aalsmeer-to-Schiphol run remains one of the shortest airport taxi trips anywhere in the region.
Pickup in and around Aalsmeer
Collection is possible across all six districts of Aalsmeer: Dorp, Kudelstaart, Oosteinde, Hornmeer, Stommeer and the Uiterweg, as well as Calslagen and the newer housing at Nieuw-Oosteinde. If you live along the Uiterweg, the long, narrow finger of land reaching out over the water, do give your exact house number when you book; turning round is awkward there, so the driver allows a little extra time for the approach.
From Kudelstaart, the southernmost point of the municipality, expect a few more minutes on the road than from the centre, though the fixed price stays the same either way.

Yes, the fixed fares apply right across the municipality of Aalsmeer, from Kudelstaart in the south to Oosteinde and the Uiterweg. From Kudelstaart the drive runs a few minutes longer than from Dorp, but the price does not change.
For the Uiterweg, mention your house number when booking so the driver can plan the approach along that narrow waterside road.
How early should I be at Schiphol before my flight?
