Amstelveen sits so close to Schiphol that a screened driver is rarely far away: from the moment you pull the front door shut, you are usually at the airport in around 20 minutes outside the rush hour. The usual route out of Amstelveen runs along the A9, which inside the town carries the local name Burgemeester van Sonweg. From the Beneluxbaan you join the motorway at the Stadshart junction heading towards Haarlem, switch to the A4 at the Badhoevedorp interchange and take the Schiphol exit straight afterwards. That 15-kilometre stretch takes around 20 minutes outside the rush hour. During the morning rush (roughly 7:00-9:30) and the evening rush (16:30-18:30) the A9 between Amstelveen and Badhoevedorp can fill up, partly because of the ongoing widening works, and the journey can stretch to around 30 minutes. If that happens, the driver can drop onto the southern route via the Legmeerdijk (N231) and the Fokkerweg (N232), which approaches the terminal past Schiphol-Oost. Starting from Westwijk or Bovenkerk, that southern variant is sometimes the quicker option anyway. Worth knowing: the Stadshart exit has faced lengthy closures during the A9 works, so the driver may briefly route via the Ouderkerk exit instead. Book in the middle of the rush hour and Schipholride builds that longer running time into the pick-up.

Pick-up in Amstelveen

A driver can collect you anywhere in Amstelveen: from the Stadshart and the older districts of Elsrijk, Randwijck and Keizer Karelpark in the north to Groenelaan, Waardhuizen, Middenhoven and Westwijk further south. Give your full address when you book; in the narrower streets around the Stadshart the driver simply stops at the door or at the nearest sensible spot. Amstelveen has no railway station, so almost every journey begins at home or at the office — for example at the Kronenburg office location along the Beneluxbaan, or at one of the business parks such as Legmeer, De Loeten or Bovenkerk. Just mention the entrance or the company name on the sign.
