Your ride from Amerongen
Amerongen lies wedged between the wood edge of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the floodplains of the Nederrijn, with the castle and the old tobacco barns as landmarks. The village belongs to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug municipality and looks out from the Amerongse Berg straight into the Betuwe.
To the airport it's 79 kilometres and about 71 minutes' drive outside rush hour. Schipholride applies a fixed total price for that of €130 for Comfort, €165 for Premium, €170 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €290 for VIP.
VAT, luggage and the parking at Schiphol are in it; a night or public-holiday surcharge isn't added. You reserve at least 1 hour in advance and settle directly online at booking.
From the Drostestraat or the Burgwal your driver first rides over the N225, the old road along the foot of the Heuvelrug, towards Leersum and Doorn or, conversely, eastbound to Veenendaal. At the nearest connection it goes onto the A12, westbound past Maarn, Driebergen and Bunnik to the Lunetten interchange.
There the A2 follows northbound past Utrecht, Maarssen and Breukelen, until at Holendrecht the A9 towards Amstelveen begins and at Badhoevedorp the A4 handles the last kilometres to the terminal. For 79 kilometres your driver reckons a minute or 71 outside the peak hours.
The morning jam on the A12 between Driebergen and Utrecht is the biggest risk, followed by the A2 past Utrecht-Noord; together they can lift the travel time to 102 minutes. With heavy congestion on the Utrecht ring, the driver sometimes picks the way via Amersfoort and the A28.
Pick-up in Amerongen
The pick-up area covers the village itself, the streets towards the ferry ramp on the Nederrijn and the hamlets around it: Overberg, Elst and the ribbons along the Rijksstraatweg towards Leersum and Veenendaal.
Addresses by Zuylenstein and the castle gardens fall under it too. Amerongen has no halt of its own; whoever wants to catch the train first drives to Veenendaal-De Klomp or Driebergen-Zeist. For a morning flight that's an awkward puzzle with cases, while the car is simply in front of your house at the time you agreed.
Areas served: Amerongen-dorp · Overberg · Elst (Utrecht) · Zuylenstein · Amerongse Bovenpolder
Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Amerongen
For the way back the arrangement is in the arrivals hall of Schiphol Plaza, at the meeting point. Your driver sees from the flight details when you truly land and matches his arrival to it. The first hour after landing waiting is included.
Then you drive back to the Heuvelrug in a little over an hour, without anything still needing to be paid.

Top chauffeur, uitstekende rit!
Vriendelijke gast, rijdt fantastisch.
Excellent service for our trip from Schipol airport to Spijkenisse. Communication from the driver was excellent and we managed to arrange a earlier pick up based on his knowledge of how long the immigration queue would be. Very friendly, helpful and would highly recommend

Frequently asked questions
What do I pay for Amerongen to Schiphol?+
The fixed total price is €130 in Comfort, €165 in Premium, €170 for the Van with five to eight seats and €290 in VIP. VAT, luggage and the parking money at the airport are processed in it, so no extra bill follows afterwards.
There's no station in the village — how do I handle that?+
Without a car you first have to go to Veenendaal-De Klomp or Driebergen-Zeist and change there towards the airport. With luggage that's a sizeable detour, while a ride from your own front door delivers you to the departure hall in one go.
What time do I leave for a flight at 10:00?+
Reckon on some 71 minutes' driving time outside rush hour plus two hours for check-in and security. That brings the pick-up time around half past six, with your driver planning extra margin for the A12 and the A2 if departure falls in the morning peak.
Are there children travelling who need a seat?+
A child seat or booster can be brought along on request. Mention at booking how many children come along and their ages, and the driver has the right seat fitted before you get in.
And if the aircraft is delayed?+
The flight status is watched, so if the landing time shifts, the pick-up moment shifts along without you having to report anything. Moreover sixty minutes of free waiting time applies after landing for customs and the baggage belt.
Is a taxi cheaper than parking at Schiphol?+
For a longer trip it often is: you pay one fixed fare instead of parking fees per day, and you don't have to haul your cases from P3 to the terminal. Compare your own route with the price calculator.
How far in advance do I need to book my Schiphol taxi?+
You can book online up to 1 hour before pickup, day and night; only between 02:00 and 09:00 you can't book a ride departing that same morning. If online booking is no longer available, just call 085 060 2543 and we'll see what's possible. Booking earlier is always wise — especially in holiday periods.
Can my dog or pet come along?+
By arrangement — mention it when booking and we'll take it into account.
