Your ride from Wijk bij Duurstede

Wijk bij Duurstede lies where the Kromme Rijn leaves the Lek, an old Hanseatic town in the Kromme Rijn area with the famous Rijn en Lek windmill and Duurstede castle on the water. From the Lek it's 70 kilometres to Schiphol, about an hour's drive outside rush hour.

The four classes cost from the Kromme Rijn €120 (Comfort), €150 (Premium), €155 (Van) and €215 (VIP), a fixed total amount in which VAT, luggage and parking charges are included. Night and public-holiday surcharges don't exist, so a night ride from the Rijn en Lek windmill costs the same as during the day.

The reservation from the Lek you make at the latest 1 hour ahead and settle online, which fixes the ride and the price.

From Wijk bij Duurstede your driver rides over the N229 past Cothen and Odijk towards Bunnik, or via the N320 to the A2 at Culemborg. At Bunnik or Houten the route takes the A12 or the Utrecht ring, after which via the A2/A9, or via the A27, the Haarlemmermeer and the A4 with the Schiphol exit are reached.

The ride is about 70 kilometres; the sensitive point is on the Utrecht ring and the Lunetten interchange, which in the peak are among the busiest in the country. The N229 along the Kromme Rijn runs through orchards and cores and asks for some calm driving.

Outside rush hour you reckon on a good hour.

Pick-up in Wijk bij Duurstede

Pick-up is possible throughout the Wijk bij Duurstede municipality: in the historic centre within the ramparts, on the De Engk and De Heul quarters, and in the cores of Cothen and Langbroek. Addresses by the windmill, the marina and the castle fall within the area too.

If you live in the low-traffic centre or on one of the orchard lanes, give a handy boarding point and your exact address. Note at booking your address with house number in Cothen or the centre, and the car pulls up right on time.

Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Wijk bij Duurstede

Back at Schiphol your driver waits for the ride to the Kromme Rijn in the arrivals hall, at the meeting point; a late landing shifts the pick-up moment of its own accord and after arrival you have 60 minutes of free waiting time. Along the Lek and the Kromme Rijn you're back home in about an hour.

Excellent service for our trip from Schipol airport to Spijkenisse. Communication from the driver was excellent and we managed to arrange a earlier pick up based on his knowledge of how long the immigration queue would be. Very friendly, helpful and would highly recommend

Frequently asked questions

How much is Wijk bij Duurstede to Schiphol?+

Reckon from the Lek on €120 for Comfort, €150 for Premium, €155 for the eight-seat Van and €215 for VIP — the total including VAT, cases and parking.

How do I reach Schiphol without a car?+

Public transport asks from the Rijn en Lek windmill for at least one change via Utrecht, awkward with cases and in the dark; a taxi drives straight to the departure hall.

What time does the car pull up at the Lek?+

The driver reckons from the Kromme Rijn with about an hour's driving time plus a good two hours at the airport itself, so together you set a pick-up time that's ample even in the morning peak.

How many people can come along in the Van?+

With five to eight people you book the Van (Mercedes V-Class or similar) at the Lek; it costs €155 including luggage, more comfortable than splitting the party.

What happens with a scrapped flight?+

If you report it at least 4 hours before the pick-up time by the Rijn en Lek windmill, we move the ride free of charge or you get half back; shorter beforehand that can no longer be done free.

How much do I pay per person?+

Nothing extra: the fixed price is per ride, not per person. Whether you travel alone or with four people in a Comfort, the amount stays the same.

Can I book a return trip in one go?+

Yes, you arrange your outbound and return ride in one booking with the return option in the booking flow. For the return your driver tracks your flight and 60 minutes of free waiting time apply.

Do I get an invoice with VAT for my ride?+

Yes. Book in your company's name and you receive an invoice with a VAT specification — useful for your records or expense claim.
