Your ride from Maastricht

Book a taxi from Maastricht to Schiphol via Schipholride for a fixed all-in price: Comfort €295, Premium €350, Van (5-8 people) €380 or VIP €585 — including VAT, luggage and parking at Schiphol. The 219 km journey takes around 175 minutes outside rush hour and can stretch to roughly 225 minutes during peak times. That price also covers 60 minutes of free waiting time after landing on the return leg, and there is no night surcharge — handy, because for an early flight you'll be leaving Limburg in the middle of the night. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. You choose the vehicle yourself, from a VW Passat (or similar) to a Mercedes S-Class, always with a screened driver who is at your door at the agreed time.

From Maastricht the route is remarkably straightforward: the driver takes the A2 and stays on it for almost the entire trip, passing Eindhoven, 's-Hertogenbosch and Utrecht. Only at the Holendrecht interchange does it switch to the A9 towards Badhoevedorp, after which the A4 brings you to the Schiphol exit. The two well-known bottlenecks along the way are the Leenderheide interchange near Eindhoven and the Oudenrijn interchange near Utrecht; that is where most delays build up during the morning rush (±06:30-09:30) and evening rush (±16:00-19:00). Outside those windows you'll typically cover the route in about 175 minutes; if your trip falls right in the middle of rush hour, count on a maximum of roughly 225 minutes. Because Maastricht sits in the south-eastern corner of the country, departing before 06:00 often saves around half an hour — on night runs to an early flight the A2 is virtually empty.

Pick-up in Maastricht

You'll be picked up at any address in Maastricht: from Wyck and Céramique to Heer, Amby, Scharn and Sint Pieter, and also in Randwyck near the MUMC+ or the MECC. In the city centre around the Vrijthof the streets are narrow and partly low-traffic; when booking, enter a clear house address or a sensible nearby pick-up point, and the driver will sort out the rest with you. Pick-up at Maastricht Centraal, Maastricht Randwyck or Maastricht Noord is of course also possible — just list the station as your pick-up address.

Frequently asked questions

What time will I leave Maastricht for an 08:00 flight?+

Work backwards: for a flight at 08:00 you'll want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 (a good 2 hours for check-in). With about 175 minutes of driving time outside rush hour, that means a pick-up around 03:00 in Maastricht. At night the A2 is empty, so that margin is generous — and you pay no night surcharge.

Can I also take a direct train from Maastricht to Schiphol?+

No, there is no direct train: you'll change at least once and be travelling for roughly 2.5 to almost 3 hours. For early flights, lots of luggage or a group, a door-to-door taxi is often more practical; in terms of pure travel time, train and taxi are fairly close.

Where on the Maastricht-Schiphol route are you likely to hit traffic?+

Almost the entire trip runs along the A2; the well-known delay points are the Leenderheide interchange near Eindhoven and the Oudenrijn interchange near Utrecht, plus the final stretch of A9/A4 around Amsterdam. During the morning and evening rush the total travel time can therefore rise to around 225 minutes; this is taken into account when planning your pick-up time.

Are business travellers also picked up at the MECC or MUMC+ in Randwyck?+

Yes, Randwyck falls within the pick-up area — just like any other address in Maastricht. During major fairs such as TEFAF it gets busier around the MECC; in that case, give a specific entrance or side street as your pick-up point. Business travel is available with Premium (Mercedes E-Class or similar) or VIP (S-Class or similar).

There are seven of us travelling from Maastricht — does that fit in one vehicle?+

Yes. The Van (Mercedes V-Class or similar) carries 5 to 8 people including luggage for a fixed price of €380 total, regardless of the time. Per person that's often cheaper than separate train tickets with a transfer, and you all set off together from one address.
