The quickest way usually runs via the N207 and N11 to the A4 at Leiden, after which you head north and leave at exit 4 by the terminal. Living on the eastern side of town, the alternative via Gouda and the A12 to the Prins Clausplein comes into play.
With normal flow those 40 kilometres pass in roughly 45 minutes. Delays gather on the A4 between Leiden and the airport and on the N11 around Alphen; in the morning crush the travel time can therefore rise to about 65 minutes.
Because the Gouwe cuts the town in two, the approach depends on whether you live on the east or the west bank. The driver picks whichever side is flowing best at that moment. Rush-hour pressure is built into the planning, so you check in on schedule.
The Gouwe splits Waddinxveen in two, and the bank you live on decides the first kilometres. On the west side, the route via the N207 and the N11 to the A4 near Leiden is the obvious one. If you live on the east side, the road via Gouda and the A12 to the Prins Clausplein can be a good alternative.
The driver picks whichever side is moving well at that moment. The 40 kilometres take 45 minutes in normal traffic and 65 minutes when it's busy.
For a 07:00 flight to a European destination you need to be at Schiphol by 05:00, so you leave at 04:00, from Triangel just as from Groenswaard. A long-haul flight at 19:00 calls for three hours, meaning 16:00 on site, and that puts you in the afternoon rush.
In that case the car is at your door at 14:40. The margin in both times is 15 minutes. Where it usually jams is the N11 around Alphen and the A4 between Leiden and the airport, so for an afternoon departure plan with the 65 minutes. The hour doesn't affect the fare. Night, weekend and rush-hour surcharges don't exist, and Comfort costs €81.

A train does stop in Waddinxveen, so why take a taxi?
True, the Gouda-Alphen line calls here, but towards the airport you must change at Alphen or Leiden. With plenty of luggage, an early start or a family, one direct ride from door to terminal is generally quicker and far less awkward.
