The 39 kilometres take around 40 minutes outside the rush hour, rising to roughly 60 minutes when traffic builds. You choose your own segment: Comfort (€75, VW Passat or similar), Premium (€100, Mercedes E-Class or similar), Van for 5-8 people (€100, V-Class or similar) or VIP (€170, S-Class or similar).
The train from Bodegraven station is fine but not direct, as you change at Leiden Centraal. With two or more travellers, an early departure, or a home in Waarder or Driebruggen where there is no station, door-to-door usually wins.

From Bodegraven the driver takes the N11 towards Alphen aan den Rijn and Leiden, then joins the A4 at the Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk interchange heading for Amsterdam. At the Schiphol exit you leave the motorway and are almost straight away in front of the terminal.
From Reeuwijk-Brug or Reeuwijk-Dorp the run starts on the A12 or along the back roads to reach that same N11 connection. The weak spot is the N11 itself: it has a single lane in each direction and regularly fills with slow-moving traffic between Bodegraven and Alphen during the morning rush (roughly 7:00-9:00), while the A4 around Leiden and Hoofddorp clogs up at the same time.
Outside the rush hour the 39-kilometre journey is done in around 40 minutes; in the rush hour it can stretch to roughly 60 minutes. Schipholride sets your pick-up time around that, so that even on a busy Tuesday morning in the Green Heart you reach the airport with a comfortable buffer.

What time should I leave Bodegraven for an 08:00 flight?+
For an 08:00 departure you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 to check in comfortably. Because that drive falls right as the morning rush is building on the N11 and the A4, plan it generously: a pick-up around 05:00 gives you a good margin even if the single-lane N11 towards Alphen slows down. There is no surcharge for the early hour.
Isn't the train from Bodegraven faster than a taxi to Schiphol?+
Sometimes, on pure riding time: with a change at Leiden Centraal you are roughly 47 minutes on the train. But add the walk or cycle to the station, the waiting and the lugging of suitcases, and door-to-door the taxi is usually quicker and more comfortable - certainly from Waarder, Driebruggen or Reeuwijk-Dorp, none of which have a station of their own.
Does Schipholride also cover Reeuwijk-Brug, Waarder and the other villages?+
