There is no direct train: from Bloemendaal or Overveen you change at least once, and you are easily half an hour on the rails before you add the walk or cycle to the station.
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. With cases, an early departure or a group from Aerdenhout, a screened driver at the door usually wins on comfort.
Your route and departure time
From Bloemendaal the driver normally heads out along the Westelijke Randweg (N208) past Haarlem and onto the Schipholweg (N205), which joins the A9 at the Rottepolderplein interchange. From there it is a short hop on the A9 and the Schiphol exit to reach the terminal.
The fast section of the N205 has a 100 km/h limit, so outside the busy hours the kilometres tick by quickly: allow around 30 minutes for the 23-kilometre trip. During the morning and evening rush the familiar choke points are the N205 around Haarlem and the Rottepolderplein itself, and the journey can then stretch to roughly 45 minutes.
On warm beach days you add the traffic flowing to and from Bloemendaal aan Zee along the Zeeweg, which slows the village centre and Overveen in particular. Your pick-up time is planned around those windows, so the margin to your flight stays intact whatever the day throws up.

How early should the taxi arrive in Bloemendaal for a morning flight?
Count back from your departure time: allow a good two hours for check-in and security, plus around 30 minutes of driving outside the rush hour. For a 09:00 flight that means a pick-up around 06:30. If your trip falls within the morning rush, the pick-up is planned a little earlier, because the run can stretch to roughly 45 minutes on the N205.
Is a taxi quicker than the train from Bloemendaal or Overveen station?
Usually yes. There is no direct train to Schiphol from Bloemendaal or Overveen; with a change you are easily 35 minutes or more on the rails, not counting the way to the station. A taxi runs from your front door to the terminal in around 30 minutes outside the rush hour.
If you travel light and live beside the station, the train stays a perfectly good cheaper option.
Can I also book a taxi from Vogelenzang or Bennebroek?
Yes, the fixed prices apply across the whole borough of Bloemendaal: Bloemendaal-Dorp, Overveen, Aerdenhout, Vogelenzang and Bennebroek. From Bennebroek and Vogelenzang the driver usually takes a more southerly route towards the A4 or the N205, but that makes no difference at all to the price you pay.
Does beach traffic to Bloemendaal aan Zee affect my journey?
On warm days it can. Traffic along the Zeeweg towards the beach causes delays in the village centre and Overveen, above all at weekends. Your pick-up time is planned with that in mind, and where possible the driver skirts the busiest stretches by taking the N208, so your flight margin stays safe.

For four people with full-sized cases the Van (Mercedes V-Class or similar, €84 fixed, up to 8 people) is the comfortable choice. Travelling as two or three, Comfort (VW Passat or similar, €60) or Premium (Mercedes E-Class or similar, €78) is plenty.
