Ilpendam is a village on the Noordhollandsch Kanaal in the Waterland municipality, halfway between Purmerend and Amsterdam-Noord. Commuters know the N235 running past it inside out — and over exactly that road a taxi takes you to the airport: 34 kilometres, about 36 minutes outside rush hour.
The price is fixed at booking: €65 in Comfort, €80 in Premium, €85 for the Van (5-8 seats) and €145 for VIP, always including VAT, luggage and the parking charges at Schiphol. Surcharges for night, public holiday or cases don't exist.
You pay directly online and book at least 1 hour ahead; on the way back your driver tracks the flight and waits up to 60 minutes free after landing.
The route is straightforward: from the Dorpsstraat you turn onto the N235, which as the Jaagweg runs along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal via Watergang to Het Schouw. There you join the A10 ring, through the Coentunnel and over the A10-West to the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, after which the A4 delivers you to the Schiphol exit.
Outside rush hour that's about 36 minutes' drive. The vulnerable stretch is right at the start: on the narrow N235 towards Het Schouw and at the Coentunnel traffic backs up in the morning peak, so the ride can rise towards 52 minutes.
Your driver factors that congestion into the pick-up moment and can divert via Purmerend and the A7 if need be.
Pick-up in Ilpendam
Drivers pick up in the village core around the Dorpsstraat and the church, in the newer streets around it and in the countryside along the canal. The adjacent ribbon village of Purmerland and the houses towards Watergang fall within the area too; state your address in full at booking and the car is exactly right.
There's no station — the nearest trains leave from Purmerend — so travelling from door to departure hall really saves time here.
