Taxi Muiden to Schiphol

The A1 passes practically alongside the town, so the driver is on the motorway within moments. From there the route runs west towards the Watergraafsmeer interchange, over the A10-east and the southern ring, joining the A4 at De Nieuwe Meer for the run to the Schiphol exit.

Outside the peaks you stand before the departure hall after some 31 minutes and 30 kilometres. The stretch is short and clear-cut; virtually all the delay lives on the A10-south around the Zuidas, which seizes up in the morning and evening rush.

In those windows the ride can head towards three quarters of an hour. As an alternative the driver can take the A9 past Diemen and Amstelveen, steering clear of the Zuidas. The rush-hour risk is priced into your pick-up time, leaving ample margin at check-in.

Comfort from Muiden costs €66, as much at 04:10 as at 14:55, because there is no night, weekend or rush-hour surcharge. Those two times are the pick-ups for two common flights. For a European flight at 07:00 you want to be at Schiphol at 05:00, two hours ahead.

The A1 runs right past the little town, the 30-kilometre ride takes around 31 minutes at night, and adding 15 minutes of slack brings you to 04:10. From De Krijgsman or Muiderberg you are on the motorway in no time as well.

Flying intercontinental at 19:00, you should be inside three hours ahead, by 16:00. The weak spot is then the A10 South around the Zuidas, which can grind to a halt in the afternoon rush. The planning therefore works with around 46 minutes plus a 15-minute margin, giving a pick-up at 14:55.

If the ring jams, the driver can go via the A9 past Diemen and Amstelveen. Inside the fortified town around the Muiderslot the streets are narrow, so agree on a stopping point around the corner; in the new homes on the IJmeer side the car comes right to your door.

Collection happens throughout Muiden: inside the fortress with its narrow streets around the Muiderslot, and in the De Krijgsman new-build on the IJmeer side. Neighbouring Muiderberg, with its little IJmeer beach, falls inside the pick-up area as well.

In the historic town centre the driver stops as close to your address as possible or just around the corner, so give the exact address when you book. Muiden itself has no railway station (the nearest are Weesp and Naarden-Bussum), so nearly every ride begins at home.
