Nearly every ride picks up the A4 towards Amsterdam. From Voorburg and Leidschendam you reach it via the N14 or the Prins Clausplein; from Stompwijk the first stretch runs over the N206 or through Zoeterwoude.
Exit 4 delivers you at the terminal. On an empty road the 36-kilometre stretch takes around 32 minutes. Hold-ups form at the Prins Clausplein and on the A4 between Leiden and the airport; in the morning crush the travel time can lengthen to about 46 minutes.
With the A4 full, the A44 past Sassenheim serves as the fallback. Because the municipality counts three cores, the opening kilometre depends on where you live; the driver picks the fastest junction. The planner prices rush-hour delay into your pick-up moment in advance.
Leidschendam-Voorburg is made up of three cores, and you notice that in the first minutes of the ride. From Voorburg and Leidschendam the N14 or the Prins Clausplein puts you on the A4 quickly. Stompwijk sits further from that junction, so the driver first takes the N206 or goes through Zoeterwoude.
For a European flight at 07:00 it hardly matters, because the roads are quiet at night everywhere. Aim for Schiphol at 05:00 (two hours ahead), allow about 32 minutes of driving plus 15 minutes of slack, and book the pick-up for 04:10.
Leaving in the afternoon, the Prins Clausplein is the place to watch. Together with the A4 between Leiden and Schiphol, that traffic stretches the trip to about 46 minutes. A long-haul flight at 19:00 means three hours at the airport, so 16:00, which makes 14:55 the pick-up time, again with 15 minutes of slack inside it. The fare does not depend on the hour: Comfort is €75, and there is no surcharge for night, weekend or rush hour.
