Your ride from Vlaardingen
From Vlaardingen the run to Schiphol is 63 kilometres and takes around 55 minutes outside the rush hour. For that journey Schipholride arranges a screened driver at a fixed all-in price from €105, with VAT, luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol already included; there is no night surcharge. Vlaardingen sits conveniently on the A20 and the A4, so via the Kethelplein interchange you are on the motorway towards Schiphol almost straight away, whether you start in Holy, the Westwijk or the centre. You choose your own segment: Comfort (€105, VW Passat or similar), Premium (€125, Mercedes E-Class or similar), Van for 5-8 people (€140, V-Class or similar) or VIP (€210, S-Class or similar). In the morning or evening rush the journey can stretch to roughly 80 minutes, above all on the A4 past The Hague and Leiden. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
From Vlaardingen the driver heads via the Marathonweg or the Holysingel onto the A20, then joins the A4 at the Kethelplein interchange towards The Hague and Amsterdam. Straight after the interchange comes the Ketheltunnel, the stretch of A4 between Schiedam and Delft that opened in 2015, after which the route continues past Delft, Rijswijk and Leiden to the Schiphol exit. Outside the rush hour you cover the 63 kilometres in around 55 minutes. The busiest section is not in Vlaardingen itself but further along: during the morning rush (roughly 7:00-9:00) traffic backs up on the A4 around The Hague and the Leiden interchanges, and between about 16:00 and 18:30 the same happens to a lesser degree. If the Ketheltunnel is closed for overnight roadworks, the driver takes an alternative via the A20 and the old A13 past Delft. These rush-hour windows are built into the timing, so you reach the airport with plenty of margin.
Pick-up in Vlaardingen
You can be collected at any address in Vlaardingen: from Holy-Noord and Holy-Zuid in the north to the Westwijk, Vlaardinger-Ambacht, Babberspolder, the Oostwijk, the Vettenoordsepolder and the centre. One thing to note: since 2019 the Vlaardingen West, Centrum and Oost stations have been metro stops on the Hoekse Lijn, so the town no longer has a mainline rail station. Whether you are leaving from one of those metro stops or from the De Vergulde Hand, Groot Vettenoord or Rivierzone business parks, you simply give your exact address when you book and the driver waits at the agreed spot.

Pick-up from Schiphol
On the way back to Vlaardingen your flight is tracked live, with 60 minutes of free waiting time after landing. If you arrive during the evening rush, bear in mind that the A4 towards the Kethelplein between Leiden and The Hague can be solid; where needed the driver picks an alternative via the A44 or the A13. Land late at night and you still pay exactly the same fixed price - there is no night surcharge.
Frequently asked questions
How far ahead will I be collected in Vlaardingen for a morning flight?+
Allow around 55 minutes of driving time outside the rush hour plus a good two hours for check-in: for an 08:00 flight a pick-up around 05:00 in Vlaardingen is a safe choice. If your departure falls in the morning rush, extra margin is planned in because the A4 towards The Hague and Leiden can clog up.
Is there a direct train from Vlaardingen to Schiphol?+
No. Since 2019 the former Vlaardingen railway stations have been metro stops on the Hoekse Lijn, so you first take metro line B to Schiedam Centrum and change there for the train. With luggage, an early flight or a group, a door-to-door taxi is often more practical, and you weigh up for yourself what suits you best.
Do you also collect in Holy, the Westwijk or at the metro stations?+
Yes, every district of Vlaardingen is covered: Holy-Noord and -Zuid, Westwijk, Vlaardinger-Ambacht, Babberspolder, Oostwijk, Vettenoordsepolder and the centre. Pick-up at the Vlaardingen West, Centrum or Oost metro station is fine too. Just give the exact address or the stop when you book, and the driver will be ready there.
How many of us fit in one car from Vlaardingen?+
Up to 4 people travel in a Comfort (VW Passat or similar, €105) or Premium (Mercedes E-Class or similar, €125). For 5 to 8 people you book the Van: a Mercedes V-Class or similar at €140 for the whole vehicle, with VAT, luggage and the Schiphol parking already included, so split per head it is often cheaper than travelling separately.
Where on the Vlaardingen to Schiphol route is the traffic worst?+
Not in Vlaardingen itself: via the A20 and the Kethelplein you are quickly out of town. The delay sits mainly on the A4 around The Hague and Leiden, in the morning rush between roughly 7:00 and 9:00. Outside those windows the route takes around 55 minutes; in the rush it can stretch to about 80 minutes.
