Vlaardingen sits conveniently on the A20 and the A4, so via the Kethelplein interchange you are on the motorway towards Schiphol almost straight away, whether you start in Holy, the Westwijk or the centre. You choose your own segment: Comfort (€105, VW Passat or similar), Premium (€130, Mercedes E-Class or similar), Van for 5-8 people (€135, V-Class or similar) or VIP (€235, S-Class or similar).
In the morning or evening rush the journey can stretch to roughly 80 minutes, above all on the A4 past The Hague and Leiden. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
From Vlaardingen the driver heads via the Marathonweg or the Holysingel onto the A20, then joins the A4 at the Kethelplein interchange towards The Hague and Amsterdam. Straight after the interchange comes the Ketheltunnel, the stretch of A4 between Schiedam and Delft that opened in 2015, after which the route continues past Delft, Rijswijk and Leiden to the Schiphol exit.
Outside the rush hour you cover the 63 kilometres in around 55 minutes. The busiest section is not in Vlaardingen itself but further along: during the morning rush (roughly 7:00-9:00) traffic backs up on the A4 around The Hague and the Leiden interchanges, and between about 16:00 and 18:30 the same happens to a lesser degree.
If the Ketheltunnel is closed for overnight roadworks, the driver takes an alternative via the A20 and the old A13 past Delft. These rush-hour windows are built into the timing, so you reach the airport with plenty of margin.

Allow around 55 minutes of driving time outside the rush hour plus a good two hours for check-in: for an 08:00 flight a pick-up around 05:00 in Vlaardingen is a safe choice. If your departure falls in the morning rush, extra margin is planned in because the A4 towards The Hague and Leiden can clog up.
Is there a direct train from Vlaardingen to Schiphol?+
No. Since 2019 the former Vlaardingen railway stations have been metro stops on the Hoekse Lijn, so you first take metro line B to Schiedam Centrum and change there for the train.
