Vinkeveen owes its fame to the Vinkeveense Plassen, the water-rich peat area with sand islands where half of Amsterdam descends in summer. The village belongs to the De Ronde Venen municipality and lies right on the A2, which makes the airport surprisingly close: 23 kilometres, about 31 minutes outside rush hour.
That comes with a fixed amount you know in advance — Comfort €45, Premium €55, the Van for five to eight people €60 and VIP €110 — including VAT, cases and the parking at Schiphol. A ride at four in the morning costs the same as a ride on a Tuesday afternoon, because surcharges for night or public holiday don't exist.
Booking is possible up to at least 1 hour in advance, after which you settle online straight away.
There are two ways to reach the departure hall from Vinkeveen, and the traffic picture decides which the driver picks. The short route runs over the N201: via Mijdrecht, Amstelhoek and Uithoorn past the greenhouses of Aalsmeer, and then with the Fokkerweg to the airport.
The other goes over the A2 north to the Holendrecht interchange, from there with the A9 past Amstelveen to Badhoevedorp and the last stretch over the A4. Both variants span about 23 kilometres and cost some 31 minutes at a quiet moment.
In the morning the N201 around Uithoorn and the Waterwolftunnel often fills, while the A9 at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is a known bottleneck; it then becomes 46 minutes. Because the route is short, the difference between peak and off-peak stays limited to a quarter of an hour.
Pick-up in Vinkeveen
Boarding is possible throughout Vinkeveen: on the Herenweg and the Baambrugse Zuwe, in the quarters around the church, on Demmerik and towards Donkereind and Waverveen. The recreation homes, marinas and dive spots along the lakes are usable as a pick-up spot too, as are addresses in Mijdrecht, Wilnis or Abcoude.
The village has no train station; whoever travels by public transport begins with the bus to Uithoorn or Breukelen. Door to door that soon spares half an hour and a change with luggage.

Isn't the bus to Uithoorn a cheaper alternative?+
By public transport you always travel from Vinkeveen via a bus stop and at least one change, which is awkward with cases and in the dark. A taxi drives in about 31 minutes straight from your own address to the departure hall.
Can the driver pick someone up in Mijdrecht on the way?+
An intermediate stop is possible, but it costs extra and must be given at booking so the detour and the waiting time can be built into the planning and the amount. Improvising afterwards isn't handy with a tight flight schedule.
How many people fit in the Van?+
