Your ride from Zwolle

From Zwolle to Schiphol is a 120-kilometre drive, almost entirely motorway: the A28 towards Amersfoort, onto the A1 at the Hoevelaken interchange and then via the A9 to the airport — outside rush hour you're there in about 100 minutes. With Schipholride you book this ride for a fixed total from €175 (Comfort), with VAT, luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol already included. During the morning or evening peak the journey can stretch to around 130 minutes; the driver factors that in when planning. Zwolle also has a direct intercity train to Schiphol, so a taxi is mainly the choice for door-to-door convenience: no lugging cases across the station, and even at 4 a.m. a driver is simply waiting at your door. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. The other classes are Premium (€215), a Van for 5–8 people (€230) and VIP (€360, S-Class).

The standard route runs south along the A28 past Harderwijk and Nijkerk to the Hoevelaken interchange, where you join the A1 towards Amsterdam. At the Diemen interchange you take the A9, through the Gaasperdammertunnel and past Amstelveen to the Schiphol exit. Hoevelaken is the best-known bottleneck on this stretch: during the morning peak (roughly between 6:30 and 9:30) it regularly backs up there and on the A28 around Amersfoort, and in the evening peak the same applies to the A1 and A9 around Amsterdam. The ride can then run up to around 130 minutes. If the A28 clogs up, there is a full alternative through Flevoland: via the N307 past Kampen and Dronten to Lelystad, then onto the A6 towards Almere and the A1. Just before departure the driver checks the current traffic and picks the faster of the two.

A pick-up address at Zwolle station or Zwolle Stadshagen station is no problem either, for instance if you first travel into the city by regional transport. For business trips, the driver can also collect you at business parks such as Hessenpoort, Voorsterpoort and Marslanden. The fixed fare is the same everywhere within Zwolle.

Frequently asked questions

Flight at 08:00: when should I leave from Zwolle?+

Work it back: for an 08:00 flight you want to be at Schiphol around 06:00 (two hours' check-in time). With about 100 minutes' driving time and a small buffer, that means a pick-up around 04:00–04:15 in Zwolle. That early the A28 is empty, so the driving time is nicely predictable. There is no night surcharge.

Is a taxi from Zwolle faster than the direct train to Schiphol?+

Honest answer: the Zwolle–Schiphol intercity runs direct and takes a little over an hour, so on pure speed the train often wins. You choose the taxi for door-to-door comfort: no dragging cases to the station, no crowded carriage, and it's simply available in the middle of the night or with a group.

What happens if the Hoevelaken interchange is gridlocked on the day of my ride?+

Hoevelaken is the best-known congestion point between Zwolle and Schiphol. The driver checks the current traffic just before departure and, if needed, diverts via Flevoland: along the N307 to Lelystad and then onto the A6. For planned peak-hour rides, extra time is also built in, since the journey can run up to around 130 minutes.

Will I also be picked up in Stadshagen, Berkum or at Hessenpoort?+

Yes. The pick-up area covers all of Zwolle: residential districts such as Stadshagen, Aa-landen, Assendorp and Zwolle-Zuid, but also business parks like Hessenpoort, Voorsterpoort and Marslanden. The fixed fare doesn't change with your address within the city — Comfort stays €175, whatever district the driver collects you from.

How do we travel from Zwolle to Schiphol with six or seven people?+

That's what the Van class is for: a Mercedes V-Class or similar for 5 to 8 people, at a fixed total of €230 per vehicle. That includes VAT, luggage and the parking costs at Schiphol, so the price stays the same whether you travel with five or with eight. Handy for families and business delegations.
