From Dongen your driver first rides over the N629 towards Oosterhout, where the A27 begins a long run north. That motorway crosses the area by the Biesbosch, goes over the bridge at Gorinchem and runs to the Everdingen interchange, where the A2 takes over.
Past Nieuwegein, Utrecht and Vinkeveen it continues to the Holendrecht interchange; then the A9 follows past Amstelveen and at Badhoevedorp the A4 to the terminal. Outside rush hour those 109 kilometres are good for about 91 minutes.
Along the way lie three known bottlenecks: the A27 between Gorinchem and Everdingen, the A2 past Utrecht and Leidsche Rijn, and the stretch of A9 at Amstelveen. In the peak that stacks up to some 118 minutes. Whoever has a morning flight notices little of it, because before six the whole corridor is quiet.
In the event of a blockage on the A27, diverting via Breda and the A16 remains possible.
Pick-up in Dongen
You're picked up in the centre of Dongen and in the De Biezen, Beljaart and West II quarters, but just as readily in 's Gravenmoer and the hamlet of Klein Dongen-Vaart. The Tichelrijt business estate belongs to the area, handy for those departing straight from the office to the departure hall.
Dongen itself has no train station: travellers turn to Tilburg or Breda, and from there too a change is needed before you're at the airport. On a trip of well over a hundred kilometres with luggage that difference weighs heavily, certainly with several people.
