Valys and the regional taxi
Valys is a taxi service for travellers with reduced mobility, for trips outside their own region. You can use it if you travel further than 5 public transport zones and/or 25 km from your home address. You pay a reduced fare; the Dutch government pays the rest. You may bring up to two mobility aids, such as a non-folding wheelchair, a mobility scooter or a rollator.
You can get a Valys pass if your municipality gave you Wmo transport or a Wmo aid such as a wheelchair, or if you have a disabled parking card for passengers or an OV-Begeleiderskaart (public transport companion card). From Monday to Thursday, book at least 8 hours in advance; for a trip from Friday to Sunday, by the evening before at the latest.
Within your own region you usually travel by regional taxi (Wmo transport), which you arrange through your municipality. Your municipality or the regional taxi can tell you whether Schiphol is within your region.

Requesting assistance
If you cannot walk long distances or climb stairs, or you depend fully on your wheelchair, request assistance from your airline. Preferably as soon as you book your ticket, and at least 48 hours before departure. Without registering in advance, your waiting time may be longer.
Help from the taxi rank
If you have difficulty getting to the check-in desk, an assistant can pick you up from the train station, the bus stop, the taxi rank or a car park. You report to one of the 27 call points.
Free loan wheelchair
Loan wheelchairs are available in each departure hall, at the train station by Plaza, at the bus station, on the WTC Traverse towards P1 and in Arrival Hall 3. You do not need to request one, and you may take it through security.
Your own wheelchair
You can use your own wheelchair at Schiphol up to the aircraft door; then it goes in the hold. If you travel with an electric wheelchair, give your airline its dimensions and battery type in advance.
By train to Schiphol
At Schiphol Airport station, NS Travel Assistance helps you board and get off the train. Request it at least one hour in advance. From the station, Schiphol's assistance can take you on to the check-in desk; you report to a call point.
