An assistance dog
An assistance dog, such as a guide dog for the blind or another assistance dog, falls under the Dutch Equal Treatment on the Grounds of Disability or Chronic Illness Act. Under that act, admitting assistance dogs is one of the adjustments a service provider must make, unless that is a disproportionate burden. On the train, an assistance dog recognisable as an assistance dog or guide dog travels free (NS).

On a lead in the halls
Your dog may come into the departure and arrival halls, but must always be on a lead or tied up. There are no dog toilets; you clean up after it yourself.
Flying with your pet
Every airline sets its own rules for flying with animals; check them before you leave. Nearly all airlines regularly fly with pets, in a heated section of the cargo hold.
Travel documents
Most of the time your pet needs a pet passport, a health certificate from a vet and proof of rabies vaccination. Within Europe, that vaccination must be given at least 21 days before departure.
Extra time
Checking in your pet takes time: allow an extra half hour. An animal in a kennel may only be taken out in the arrival hall, after customs.
By taxi or with SchipholRide
If you take a taxi from the rank or through an app, ask before you get in whether your pet can come along. With SchipholRide a pet can come along on request: mention it in the 'Anything else?' field when you book, or contact customer service. Your request is then confirmed. What else can come along is on luggage and extras.
SchipholRide is a booking platform for taxi rides to and from Schiphol, active since 2018. Your ride is carried out by an affiliated operator with a taxi licence; the driver holds a Dutch chauffeurskaart (taxi driver card).
You see a fixed total price before you book, from €35 (Comfort), including VAT, luggage and Schiphol parking costs, with no night surcharge. For pickups at Schiphol your flight is tracked live and you get 60 minutes free after landing. Prices per town are in the fare table by municipality; cancellation terms are on cancelling and changing.
